jaymilo: With the influx of all the new titles, any plans for when we get our old games released again?

And on another note what happened to the weekly gog update?
Not really much (good for me) lately here. I should play more games and visit GOG less often.

I believe that there won't be many classics coming in the next weeks. The sources of GOG run dry.

tinyE: Never played Sim3000. LOVE 2K and 4 is okay, but how does 3000 compare to those? Now I am intrigued.
It has better graphics, but it's a tad easier than 2000. And building tunnels in SC3000 is a nightmare.

Fenixp: The text is so sharp he can read it. He wanted the authentic 1984 font, it leaves a lot of room for imagination.
Run the images through Photoshop at a dpi lower than 72, that should help. None of this vector, smooth-lines, easy-to-read-text nonsense.
starting to get sick of these "new"releases

jaymilo: starting to get sick of these "new"releases
Not exactly sick of them but let's just say the past few months were a bit disappointing. The biggest problem is the expectation of some classic and then getting some crappy indie or newer game. And yes this weeks classic doesn't really count: It's like saying Ducktales remastered is an old game....
Jesus tapdancing Christ people, would you please just stop complaining. TET recently announced 4 more or less unknown and interesting classics, we know that the remainder of the Wing Commander series will be released before the year's end and we've been getting interesting games DRM-free even during the summer, when they could have just said "We're closing shop for a month, be back in September".

You may not be satisfied with all the games being released, however I remember the exact same thing being said when they were still releasing nothing BUT old games. If you're unhappy with the recent releases, then join the fans that are working on contacting rights holders and getting them to sign their games up with GOG. If you are too lazy or just want to complain, take it to some other corner of the internet. Even if GOG managed to release a treasure trove of Lucas Art's classic and everything on the wishlist, people would still complain about there not being enough.

Well, the part of the community that wants GOG to continue their work has had enough with all the bloody whining! Stop pissing in our bowl and go pester 4chan if you are in need of an audience.

By the way. Where the duck is Privateer 2?

(Where is The Sims 1 Complete?)

You could create a thread call "New Games" to balance us out. ;-)

Honestly, I think this thread doesn't contain so much "complaining" as it does expressing a desire to see more classics coming, and discussion of the evidence that shows more classics are coming. Some posts, sure, but that's always going to happen. Some people complain about some new games not being here!

If it does bother you, perhaps it might be best to just tune us out.

EDIT: Also, you're welcome to express your frustration here, too:

What's wrong with Wargame? Or do you play only old games?

I think JMich has constantly linked to the statistics proving that older games have appeared on GOG more than before. But still the moaning continues.

These discussions seem to usually turn to "I have these games from Steam already! How does GOG dare to release games I already have from somewhere else?". Well, very stupid of them to buy any games from Steam then, if it later bugs them so much if some of those games appear also on GOG.

I want to see both new/semi-new and old games on GOG. I'm about equally excited about today's Wargame release, as well as the news about the incoming Wing Commander: Prophecy and especially Privateer 2.

How has he defined older? Is he using GOG's definition of about 3 years?

I hear you say that a lot, but personally I haven't seen much evidence of it. No offense, but are you sure you aren't sort of "stuck" on that idea? Fred_DM may say that a bit, but I don't recall seeing many others.

I'm not against GOG bringing new or newish games, I've more or less come to accept that (honestly surprised so many people still wanted to buy Amnesia), but I do get kind of tired when people think everyone's automatically "complaining" when some of us express a desire to see more classics appear. ("Hope to see more classics come here, GOG!") Sure, some people express their desire in a very whiny way, and should probably be reprimanded, but it sometimes feels like certain people want to "snuff out" a desire to see more classics appear, which isn't going to happen. (It's not so much what you say, it's how you say it, and I feel like de_Monteynard's online outburst certainly isn't going to convince anybody to be quiet.)

I guess I don't quite understand why having a discussion like this it's such a big deal. When it comes down to it, this is just a game forum, after all.
no problem with war game bought it on steam when it came out as it looked fun and it was a real great game. But GOG needs to release old games not new shit constantly it is GOOD OLD GAMES FOR A REASON not this its just annoying to see new and indie titles on a consistency for a a while thats all it would be nice to have an old game not a remake either
Sorry for the bad grammar was done on a mobile pad thing. And besides i can not be bothered to edit!
