I just had funny moment, I was listening to BATTLE BEAST play list from youtube which is new to me and just suddenly I realized that wtf - are they really singing about Berserk manga?! :D

Battle Beast The Band Of The Hawk & lyrics

Has anyone else had this kind of moments, just suddenly come by some unexpected tribute or so?
Dark Fall: The Journal is heavily inspired by an episode of the classic British sci-fi/horror series Sapphire and Steel - so much so that the game practically recreated the abandoned train station the episode was set in.

I first played Dark Fall years before I'd ever heard of Sapphire and Steel, though. So when I finally got around to watching the series, that episode was giving me some serious deja vu.

(Great series, BTW, if you're into sci-fi horror and don't mind a low budget.)
Iron Maiden, "To Tame a Land" off their Piece of Mind album. The song was supposed to be a more obvious tribute but Frank Herbert was not a rock & roll/metal fan and kept threatening them with lawsuits if they didn't cut back on the direct references. What an asshole!
As an avid listener of power metal, I get a lot of fantasy novel references, to the point where they are expected.
Some that have not been as expected though:

Demons and Wizards have an entire album based on the Dark Tower series.

Demons and Wizards also did a song inspired by The Portrait of Dorian Gray

Blind Guardian did a song for Sacred 2

Vernian Process did a song inspired by "From Hell" / Jack the Ripper

Van Canto did a song for .. whatever game Taboria is the world of (I forget)

Amberian Dawn did a song about the Egyptian goddess Sekhmet. Amusingly, I actually found out about the band because of this song, as I was researching Sekhmet at the time.
I have a really odd one. My brother once bought a big poster of this painting. He was listening a lot to the works of Polish singer-songwriter Jacek Kaczmarski at the time. One day when he was listening to a certain song he suddenly had a crazy moment when he realized that it's inspired by this image hanging on his wall. The whole lyrics consisted of phrases which are perfectly analogous to all the elements in the painting.

Also I was quite surprised when I watched Total Recall for the first time and noticed that the original Red Faction was heavily inspired by it. And last year or so I played Chaser which I had bought from GOG, noticing that that one is even more inspired by Total Recall.
