TheCheese33: I know, I was just having a bit of fun.
And I was playing with the ambiguity of the title, dry humour, sorry about that :-)
Well for some reason I never took the background colors in mind when I made my original guesses, but perhaps:

What game made you ride with the outlaws?
Probably is Desperados
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Desperados_box_cover_design.jpg
What game made you fear your past?
Well I was hoping for Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy and it fit the clue the best, but since the covers don't match I don't know. Maybe You Are Empty.

What game made you go to the underworld?
Probably Dragonshard

What game made you feel like a hero?
Could be Demon Stone.

Or since the corresponding box is blue in the New wave of Atari games add perhaps a little further back in the Forgotten Realms world with Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor

Only five guys are on board.
Here's another reason it could be Dragonshard:
Box back cover

"Deep beneath the conflict, you'll send leaders to an RPG based underworld of beasts and bounty."
I agree that Demon Stone and Dragonshard are likely possibilities, given that Atari's D&D titles seem to do pretty well here on GOG. Considering the release in 2005, Dragonshard is quite 'recent' for a GOG game though, isn't it? Not that that speaks against it, there are several 2005 and even a few 2006 games on GOG. Just wondering because the other Atari titles here seem to be a lot older.
I have no interest in the RTS and I own the other one in a box. So far other than Alone in the Dark I am striking out, since Desperados is an RTS too right? So I don't want that either.

Hopefully the other one works out.

Rather than RTS, Desperados is a Real-Time Tactics game (think of Jagged Alliance or Fallout Tactics). They still may not be your cup of tea, however.

I LOVED Fallout Tactics, or what I played of it. Yes it's real time but the fights only matter when you get spotted or are near enemies. I just killed some enemies and enjoyed exploring each area in turn, then returning to base, etc.

I like turn-based strategy, I get all anxious and stressed when I play real-time strategy games.
What game makes you feel like a hero - Battle Realms?

Done by Liquid - same developer as Dragonshard ....
You guys are forgetting the blurred images and fonts. "Fear your past" has dark red in it's background with a bit of black and some other slivers of color. I thought it looked dead-on like a blurred "Silver" box, but I don't recall Silver having anything to do with fearing a past.

As for "Feel like a hero," that's a mixture of tans, browns, and some black. Also, the font is "Olde English" gothic.

I've been going through the various box tops, but I haven't found anything that looks like either of those, yet.

What game made you go to the underworld?

Got to be a Zork game, and the only "major" Zork game GOG doesn't have yet is... Zork Grand Inquisitor.

Well, not entirely true. There was one more text-based Zork game called Zork: The Undiscovered Underground, released by Activision, coinciding with the released of ZGI. I'm betting this will be BOTH games... the graphical ZGI and the textual ZTUU.

Unless I'm wrong. :)

Such a great overlooked RTS, but it wasn't published by Atari. It was published by Ubisoft.

Zork games were not from Atari. These are confirmed as Atari games.

Ack... I got my "A" companies (Activision and Atari) mixed up!
