Anyone play this or know much about it, it looks quite interesting from this (8/10) review.
I like the idea, but after seeing a trailer the lame and bland writing/voiceacting really put me off.
What on earth is up with that terrible Name?

Who exactly on the development team thought that would be a good idea?
I like the name, I think it is quite funny...

I am also interested in this game, if anyone have anything to say about it?

You are aware that the game is an homage to "Of Mice and Men", right? Just checking.

Makes me think... in retrospect Stalker maybe should have been named "Roadside Mutants" and SpecOps "Heart of Sandness" to underline their sources of inspiration. [/silly mode]

I know, that was the reason for my previous comment

I see. Well, in my defense - it IS hard to tell sarcasm from ignorance on the interwebs.
I looked up a few gameplay videos, you can kinda pause the combat to make tactical decisions, you can change which character you use at will. I saw one cool bit, where the orc can pick up the goblin and throw him over some melee enemies to attack a ranged enemy in the distance, the goblin has melee, stealth and ranged attacks, seems like a bit of fun, especially playing as the "bad" guys.
The combat is reportedly similar to the Game of Thrones, uh, game. It was nicely tactical, but very dull to look at. I hope it's better here.

Keeping my eye on this one.

edit: yes, I'm aware that they're the same developers.

Actually, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s main inspiration was Tarkovskiy's movie "Stalker", so that name is already a bit tongue in cheek.

The movie, which was only loosely based on the novel, barely provided any content to be inspired by and many things in the game are inspired by stuff that was only present in the novel. The game did use the movie's title (which does sound much cooler than "Roadside Picnic" anyway) and some argue that "The Marked One" is visually inspired by the movie's protagonist but really, in terms of content the book was the main source of inspiration (and the term Stalker is also already being used in the novel). Of course that doesn't change the fact that the game is also only loosely based on the book...

Looks like more banal next-gen ARPG crap to me

I'll pass
OK, after spending some time with Game of Thrones, I wouldnt play another game by Cyanide, which is a shame, because if it wasnt for the bugs, the game has some neat ideas. like setting, classes and the combat, but all poorly implemented.

But, bugs like not being able to equip weapons without a patch, Codex not working, empty loot boxes (well there is loot, but you dont now what you picked up until you look in your inv).
On a character in the second chapter, I couldnt allocate skillpoints, so I stopped there.
boy this one looks awsome! I'll get it one day when it comes down in price some!

action rpg is the greatest genre, aside from turn based party rpgs.

there is this other game, called Garshasp or something like that, now THAT looks like crap. of orcs and men? looks great!
