What are some of the Non-Video games you like to play? I know there was a thread like this previously, but the search function is a little weird...
Anyway, recently I've been playing with my Rubik's Cube a lot, but I also enjoy many of the other standards, Monopoly (I am my house holds king), Chess (there too!), Scrabble (sadly, not), and Uno.
Chess, in-door soccer with my friends, backgammon, pinball, air hockey.
Billiards (with called shots; none of that sloppy shooting), spades, Texas hold-em poker.
Texas Holdem with friends (actually, that has pretty much come to a halt since the whole craze started about a year ago), Trivia Pursuit with family, Bowling and Pool with colleges.
The only really non-standard thing I ever played was Battletech, but that was eons ago.
monopoly (just got the world edition with the electronic money/credit cards!), chess, checkers, euchre, texas hold em, risk, and scattegories
some people are listing sports so I'll add ultimate frisbee to that :D
I'm all about racquetball and pool. Last night I played some Phase 10, that's a fun game.
Snooker and nine-ball, as well as chess on occasion.
Dust and Risk 2210. I would play Battletech, but there isn't anybody who wants to play it with me.
If I had opponents, I'd be playing chess, warhammer, warhammer 40000, blood bowl & the white wolf rpgs (specifically vampire the masqerade, werewolf, hunter & mage)
Monopoly, if I can ever get a group of people to play... Which is basically never, since I stick by the rules rather 'everybody is even'. Bah!
Trivial Pursuit, but this also needs a good number of people. And many I know, while smart enough, feel like they are too unintelligent to play. Bah!
Various RPG/collaborative-storytelling systems have interested my in the past. But people wither look at me, point and shout NERD! Or dismiss me since the only experience with them has been cRPG interpretations. Bah!
Consequently, I either go read a book or play computer games.
Scrabble. When we first got together me and my girl used to play on scrabbulous an awful lot and when we saw it in a nearby store we picked it up right away.
Carcassone. Didn't learn about this until coming to Finland but it's great and different.
Jenga.
Texas Hold 'em.
Really want to get into some tabletop RPGing stuff but I probably have to improve my Finnish (alot) before I can try that here.
I love any kind of billiard, but its hard to find some good table near my home so my billiard cue is untouched quite a time now, sometimes I am playing bowling, with some people from work we are playing paintball, and long time I was "nerd" (shadowrun and ADnD mutation)
and i am minibike fan (one chinese aircooled twinked which is disassembled at now and one watercooled racing beast - B1origami victory kit replica)
Chess, D&D Adventure Game, Call of Cthulhu CCG.
Plus, as soon as I have some money to spend I'll be buying Arkham Horror. It's a Lovecraftian mythos themed board game. I love Cthulhu mythos!
Tennis.
GURPS and taekwondo.
