Snickersnack: I'm suggesting that Daikatana is more of a meme than a game to most people.

TrIp13G: Yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you claim those who have "actually played it" know something that the rest of the world, and reviewers at the time of the game's release do not?
Daikatana was a very high profile game that did not live up to the hype. It was made by a developer infamous for its hubris and mismanagement. Expectations were sky high and when it didn't meet them it is my perception that the game was crucified.

People who got to play the game outside of that charged atmosphere have had the benefit of forming an opinion based on a humbler game than Romero's would be bitch maker. Don't misunderstand me, that doesn't make it a good game for everybody. I just don't think its the pile of excrement that its popular reputation would have one to believe.

If you hate it that's cool. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

TrIp13G: What's wrong with Disney?
I like Disney movies and the parks are nice but they have had their share of dubious activity within their empire. Of course the same can be said of ANY large company so I suppose I might have been a tad harsh in that respect. Also, their history of park bias against men with long hair isn't doing anything to earn my respect.

Barry_Woodward: What if GOG has finally signed Zenimax and the release is from John Romero's work with id Software (Doom, Heretic/Hexen, Quake or Wolfenstein 3D).

On a related note, since some of the id Software games are priced $4.99 elsewhere, vote for:

Regular price points below $5.99!
Wolfenstein 3D? YES please!

Iain: Just been sat having a cuppa and decided to watch this week on GOG, the end though has next weeks game hint saying this game wants to make you its bitch. So thinking on that and the advertising campaign from way back when I am thinking Daikatana could well be landing here on GOG
But...remembering the infamous ad campaign...wouldn't that mean that GOG found a way to make John Romero downloadable?

Speaking of that ad, it would be cool if GOG made a hi-res version of that available as a goodie, maybe even a poster-sized one.
