Well, isn't that going on continuously for several years now?

I think so.

This is the latest apparently. Just putting it out there to alert those here at GOG that may be associated with Battle.net. ;)
Cheating happens in games.

Cheating happens in online, multiplayer games.

In massive online multiplayer games cheating happens massively.

is any of this supposed to come as a shock?
I lost 10 of my accounts this way with every blizzard game on each of them. I'm tired of rebuying them again at full price every time this happens. :|

I'm not following you. Are you saying that this phishing scam won't or shouldn't dupe anyone?

The scammers changed your credentials and you couldn't get back into them?

(I was making one of my well-(un)known bad jokes. I've never had a Blizzard account)

Ah, ok. I was thinking to myself saying: Bought them over again 10 times?! :)

What I am saying is that in 2014 if you can be parted from your money with an non-grammatical ruse then you are probably better off being freed from that burden of fiscal responsibility,
Yep, the same scam has been going for a few years now. I received one of those emails myself saying that my WOW account was suspended because of cheating. And i didn't even have WOW in my account.

Oh, well, there's going to be some people that are going to get scammed somehow, whether it be in year 2014 or year 3000. That's just the way it is, unfortunately.

If this thread manages to inform any unsuspecting users, then it will have served its purpose. If not, no trouble for putting it out there on my part. ;)

IIRC I saw the first e-mail with this type of scam on November 24, 2004.

/For those who miss the reference, that is one day after WoW launched.
