Elenarie: It is an all-in-one entertainment system, not just for games.
TV integration will probably only work in the US and some other select countries. For the rest or the World it will basically be a gaming machine with social features which have not even been mentioned today.

------- Later edit--------

Here it is folks. as anticipated this thing will only work in the US at launch and MS is "anticipating" which means "really really hopes for" global at some point :)) Pathetic

Anyway, by watching the reveal I learned two things:

1) gameplay = cutsecenes
2) xbox one is the new water cooler (so said Nancy Tellem) which kinda fits with the idea of Win8 being the "new coke"

Randalator: One.

They call the THIRD Xbox "One".

So, when Microsoft counts to 3 it goes "–", "360", "One". I– I– I'm at a loss here. What kind of math is that? It's not base two or base ten, that's for sure. Base idiot?

Oh well, at least we know that in the upcoming zombie apocalypse the safest place on earth will be Redmond, WA, because with the ridiculous shortage of brains in that general area those dead fuckers will have starved long before anyone finds their way there...
Clearly it's the Fibonacci sequence in degree measure, with an extra leading null. The first is null, the second is 360° which is equivalent to 0, the third is 1, and so on. While this may lead to more confusion in the next generation when we have an additional "Xbox One," at least the Xbox 8 will be correctly named from a linear perspective.

Darvond: Is that last statement a subtle insult aimed at Nintendo of America as well, also being located in Redmond?
Huh, I wasn't awa– Yes! Yes, totally. I totally took a casual shot at Nintendo there...

Jesus, I really have to update my zombie apocalypse emergency plan. Redmond is the shit!
Weak. Sony was right to announce their new hardware earlier, MS failed to show anything substantially better. I couldn't care less about TV/multimedia services that will be unavailable to me anyway, same thing goes for the new Kinect and crappy games MS is cooking for it.

Officially confirmed: you can say goodbye to used games on the new Xbox

Sony has already won, it's all over

Bigs: HALO TV
If it does air outside US (which i doubt) i'll be interested, Forward Unto Dawn was a pretty decent show. It was a bit cliche, but as first effort at making a live action series it was pretty good

Their are only three things to take away from this event.

The First being the relatively shocking news of a live action Halo series directed by Steven Spielberg. The second being an interesting partnership with the NFL. And finally, Microsoft still needs to learn how to do a premiere of a "video game" console.

Is this legit? I can only imagine the shitstorm this is going to cause.

Edit: So I was right, they are going to go with the Steam way (sort of). Buy retail, register game and lock it to a single account. If you want to use the disc with a new game you have to pay a fee.

uh I really doubt Spielberg is going to direct anything. He will most likely just "produce" it, meaning put its famous name behind it to make it look "cool" for mainstream, for a nice sum of money.

Anyway, this conference was pretty much complete disaster, the only thing I was not falling asleep during was call of duty, which incidentally looked similar in graphics to a certain PC game from 2007. Grat achievement you got there, MS

Remedy's game might be good, but 20 seconds of CG accompanied by horrible acted liveaction does not inspire confidence, let alone interest

SCPM: So it seems there will be no backwards compatibility for Xbox One at all.
http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/21/4350662/new-xbox-has-no-backwards-compatibilty
Not a surprise, the Xbox 360 had a shitty compability with Xbox 1, uhhh, i mean, the first Xbox games. The PS4 doesn't have backwards compability either, so yeah, that was expected.

Yea. -_- They probably don't have stable build and don't want to risk making fools out of themselves (IW or whoever is in charge of CoD nowadays).
I just bought a 360 to play Dance Central.

Yeah, isn't that awesome? Only with Steam you would at least be able to log into your account on someone else's console and play your game which is impossible on the Xbox Three without paying extra and thus even MORE AWESOME!!!!

Yes, I'm calling it the "Three". Fuck off, Microsoft! I won't intentionally dumb down for you...
