With tons of live-action video sequences and a gripping story, topped with some humor, The Journeyman Project 2 is a great addition to any adventure game lover's collection.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/journeyman_project_2]The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time is a first-person perspective adventure game and the second title in the Journeyman Project series. Gage Blackwood, the protagonist from the first game, now with more personality and a name, is suddenly visited by his future self. In a hurry, the former Agent 5 from the future tells him that in ten years someone will frame him for tampering with history. He gives his time travel suit to the present Gage, instructs him to find evidence to clear his name and lets himself become captured by the Temporal Security Agency. It's up to you to go back in time, uncover the truth and prove your innocence.
So what happened with the first game?
Oh. Unexpected. And quite interesting. This kind of release is one example of why I love GOG. It might not be a true classic (I honestly don't know), but it's a game I would never have gotten the chance to try if it wasn't for this website.
Guest starring Simon Cowell (bottom left shot). :P
I've heard the name of this one mentioned in the past, but I really don't know anything about it. Guess I'll see what the community here thinks.

Take Two might own the rights to it. I'm pretty sure they own what's left of the original publisher.
I had this game but never finished. I remember the atmosphere was quite unique. Nice release!
Added to cart, so I can instabuy this when I get home from work.
Great game imo, I hope we see the other two games in the series as well. Especially the third one since I never got that working properly.
Presto appears listed as (one of) the publishers for the series. Maybe later?

Maybe it's just difficult to get Win3.1 games working now. We'll see.

Nope. Presto Studios still own their entire IP history. They've mentioned this several times. So no legal problems there. It's probably just that part 1 is a little old now and somewhat buggy. Although I still think it should have come out before part 2, just for story purposes (it'll take at most 4 hours to complete the first one, on initial playthrough).
Now I want to apologise in advance for the wanton display of fanboyism which is about to occur...
OMG OMG OMG! Journeyman's finally on GOG! I love you! I love these games! The whole trilogy takes my top spot on the list of "my fave games ever". They were almost toppled by Chrono Trigger at one point (I seem to love time travel themes) but I just couldn't replace this work of art!
Gage Blackwood and his sidekick(don't want to ruin it) are the best duo in any adventure game I've ever played. There's a perfect balance between informative and useful. And there's just a lot of humour and personality integrated into conversations.
The other thing is. The original came out before Myst. Yet Myst got all the glory. Not only does this series (in my opinion) have better graphics than Myst, it plays out more like a traditional adventure game (think monkey island) rather than the "puzzles surrounded by pretty backdrops" of Myst.
And the music, oh God the music. It may be the only soundtrack which gives me goosebumps to this day (*points at arm* see, I'm getting them now just remembering it).
Errr... Maybe I should have posted this as a review...
Anyway, to sum up: Buy this if you like adventure games, buy this if you like Myst, buy this if you like time travel storylines. And just buy it to honour the passion of a group of developers who left the industry way too soon*.
God, I'm so happy. I feel like breaking into song.
Ok, ok, I'll go now...

And that it's Win3.1 instead of DOS. Hmm. Might have been better to bundle them then.
Well done GOG! Loved the game!

What was the problem with getting it to work? Audio?
Oh, and I'm pretty sure I got Jman Turbo working on XP. Will double-check when I get home (I have, er, two copies of each...)

The original release ('92) was indeed Win3.1(I remember the nightmares of getting it to work on Win95). However, I'm pretty sure the 'Turbo' re-release ('94) added Win9x support.

Actually it's DOS & Win 3.1. DOS can be sustituted by Dosbox which is always done by GoG anyway, but you cannot substitute Win3.1.Although most of these games work on 32bit WinXP and probably Vista but they definitely don't work on Win7.
