Though, usually only the cars look like that and everything else is fine. Still unplayable.
Glide version just says failed to initialize 3D acceleration.
Windows 7 64-bit.

Whenever you see colors like that and you're on vista/win7 - make a batch file that kills the GUI (explorer.exe) before launching the game and then restarts it after exiting game.
example:
taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
start /w <game exe here without carrots>
pause
start explorer.exe

Michagogi23: there is a thread about this on the i76 board as well but the opinions seem sort of split. so im trying it here again, the only thing holding me back from buying this thing RIGHT NOW is the concern about the controls. i only have keyboard/mouse, but from playing the demo waaay back when and reading several posts its sort of a pain to play it with only that? anyone got any opinon on this? i know probably most of you posted in that board, but that didnt totally convince me yet, but i WANT to buy it hehehe

I remember only playing with the keyboard way back when. I've never been much for gamepads or anything. Seriously one of my favorite games ever. I'd check it out if I were you.

start /w I76.exe -glide

Game crashes for me unfortunately when ever I try to start playing the game -- the menu loads, but that's all. I have a horrible feeling it's because my OS is Japanese =(.

And yup, I have confirmed that my crashing is due to my OS. And the only fix (switching the language for non-unicode support to US English) is a fix I cannot use as it breaks most of my other programs that I need for work =/ Damn.

GOG used OpenGLide for the glide wrapper. Maybe you could try different versions of it and/or video driver. There's also an OpenGLide ini config to play around with in the game folder.
