Often compared to EVE Online and Homeworld, Star Wolves consists of an interesting and unique blend of genres.
Star Wolves is a game set in the distant future and combines role-playing and real-time tactics gameplay, in which you lead of a rag-tag band of mercenaries, fueled by a hatred for piracy and perhaps a desire to make a little fortune in the process. Extensive character development and ship fitting options let you form a specialized and deadly task force to fit any mission requirements. The complex tactics involved in the gameplay force you to use your brain and your small fleet to its full potential, or else - there's no zerg rushing here. Finally, an interesting and non-linear plot should see to it that you don't get bored. Overall, a worthwhile, if somewhat little-known, gem.
Interesting. I expected that the "soon" of 'Journey...' would be Thursday. A welcome surprise, however. I wish 1C would bring even more of their catalog to GOG to share.
Interesting. I always wanna try it.
And last week bought SW 2 for 2 bucks.
Good to see more by 1C. Hopefully this brings us closer to Afterlight.
or Space rangers.
From the GOG description it makes me think the game may be a cross between Nexus and Mechcommander 2...which i would lap up like a hungry, hungry pig. I will wait and see what other GOGites think of it however.

GOG.com: you lead of a rag-tag band of mercenaries, fueled by a hatred for piracy

Aww, I wanna be fueled by hatred AND piracy! Looks cool though, might get it when I have the cash. Oh unless someone wants to swap me my spare copy of sands of time for it
Never Saw this coming probably get this aa i have 2 and 3 but yet to play them.
I never heard of this? What kind of game is it. Is it more like UFO or more like Freelancer or something completely different?
Interesting, but I think a wait and see posture is warranted, especially at $9.99.
I have to admit I'm tempted!
I never heard of this either.
So I went here to find out:
http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/starwolves?q=star%20wolves
The critics didn't like it but the users did. Interesting! That almost guarantees that I'll buy it.

Neither; it's more like EVE Online. I tried the demo of SW2 before, and what turned me off was the dialogue. It was just...bad.
I've wishlisted this though, may get it during a promo.
I... huh? The screenshots and the blurb make it hard for me to imagine what this is actually like. Fallout Tactics in outer space?
I'm really tempted. I own the whole Homeworld series, but did not play it much. I want to like it, but I just suck too much with RTS :-)
A more RPG-like approach to space opera would fit my tastes perfectly. However, at 10$ and with a backlog of several good games, I'll probably wait for a good sale.
