Oh man, i love SQ, still have some original 3,5in diskettes somewhere for the first three games.
One of my biggest life achievements is finishing sq2 and 3 without a solution, at age 11. So if anyone whines about them being hard... I pity the fool.
I didn't have the god damn codes for cartridges and sectors for SQ1, apart what was printed in one of the local game zines. Damn, i've restarted the game a zillion times just to get the same combination of the two.
SQ 4 was pretty cool, 5 was a bit of a let down, felt short as hell, but that was long ago.
Never dug SQ6, it had weird graphics, and a weird interface, i just couldn't play.;P
I was really hoping for a complete set of each Quest game for 10 bucks, oh well.;)
Quest for Glory next pls. Or Leisure Suit Larry. Anything to keep Al Lowe from killing himself!

SQ4 was the first SQ game that I actually owned, although I played the earlier games at a friend's house. It's pretty excellent but I always found it to be a little less funny than the others. Playing through it again, I realized that this is probably because I didn't SMELL or TASTE every worthless hotspot in the game.
SQ5 might be short but it's probably my favorite game in the series. Or was that 3?
I'd love to replay SQ6 (and I will) but I remember it being a very good game in spite of the new look.

thiagohrs: Slow down guys... Probably GOG will release episodes 1-2-3 free of charge... That's my belief...
We must keep the faith in GOG's team...

I wonder if a likelier explanation is that they're trying to work out a way with Activision to include both versions of the first game in he 1-3 package - recall that the Space Quest Collection making the rounds elsewhere only contains the remake.
wow even though i have 1996 sq collection, ill buy it again. this is crazy!
Does anyone know if the three games have voice acting?
Oh, true, SQ1 should be released in both form, AGI and SCI, I wonder why they didn't release 1-3 BEFORE 4-6... Perhaps Scumsoft had something to do with it? Elmo "Kotick" Pugg.:D
epmode: Don't forget the awesome narration of SQ4, I don't thing anything made me laugh so hard until the third Monkey Island game, but i don't wan't to dispute LA games here.;)

Interesting release i am not much of an adventure fan bt i do like the look of these. Possibly pick this up later on.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing, do these ones have voice over?

Catshade: Huh, I just realized that all Quest games on Steam are not available in Australia. Bastards.

I blame atkinson!
Mostly just for fun rather than from any evidence
I would get them, but about a year ago or so I purchased the Space Quest Collection. Kinda hard to justify buying it after already purchasing it within a close time frame. Great addition though.
I also bought Space Quest I-VI for $5 during the Steam holiday sale. It might be nice to have the DRM free version, but it's not terribly high on my wishlist since I already have these games.
Still, I think it's a good game for GoG to have in their catalogue. I was considering buying it for $20 a few months ago, until I caught it on sale. If I could have had it on GoG at that time, I would have.

Holding off on this until they release 1-3 as well. I'll pay $20 for the set, but the last thing I want is to only get half of them, and then have to buy the whole set over again somewhere else to get the first 3. :/
Oh and Quest For Glory please! I never did get to finish 4 & 5. (I wonder if there's some licensing issues with the QfG series, as it seems to be the only one that isn't rereleased somewhere?)
What version of Space Quest 4 is it? Hopefully it's the cd version so it has the voiceovers.

From the trailer GOG put up on YouTube it seems that SQ 4 has voiceovers but 5 doesn't.
I always personally remember Space Quest being the lesser of the 'Quest' adventure series with some poor attempts at humour. Or maybe that's just my memory of the magazine opinions back in the UK during the Nineties. The 'humour' probably translates better in the US where people seem to laugh at anything if the US sitcoms are anything to go by. The games must have sold though for them to make 6 of the things. I think I only ever gave SQ2 and maybe 4 a brief go, however, but I loved the PQ series (up until the awful PQ4) and I enjoyed a couple of King's Quest games. $9.99 seems a little steep for 3 games, but GOG probably couldn't sell all 6 for the same price and they didn't want to break their $5.99 & $9.99 pricing strategy. They'll probably see how these are selling then offer the first 3 for $5.99
