This absolutely fabulous game is our third release from Cyan Worlds, but is also our last release this year. There's no need to worry, though, as we're cooking up something special for the holiday season as well as for 2010.
The title [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/riven_the_sequel_to_myst]Riven: The Sequel to Myst is pretty self-explanatory. The game picks up where the original left off, once again letting you play the role of the Stranger. This time you don't just find yourself stranded in an unknown land, as a friend you've made in one of the "Ages" sends you on a quest of great importance, one which will have you journeying through diverse, breathtaking worlds once more. Like its prequel, [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/riven_the_sequel_to_myst]Riven is a first-person perspective point-and-click game. If you liked Myst, you will love Riven, which is just as immersive as its "older brother" was and represents the same level of imagination behind the scenery and puzzles.
Purchasing now!
"Last release this year"? Noooooooooooooooooooo... *sigh*
Anyway, nice release. Not my cup of tea, but definitely a classic.
Last release? You're not working round the clock, missing holidays and time with loved ones just for ungrateful bastards like us?
For shame!

For shame!

We have some Holiday Surprises planned for all of you, so we're pretty neck-deep in preparing those :).
The first surprise will arrive TODAY!!! :D

Whew, I hate to think you were taking a well deserved break or anything!
2 things:
-yay Riven! I never got to finish this one and I lost my discs, so this is great!
-WHEN WILL I GET MY SURPRISE?! I've been refreshing the page since 9 am GMT. Do you have any idea how much that ruined/is ruining my productivity today? =D
EDIT: also, what's the consensus on the difficulty of Riven, compared to Myst? I do remember feeling a lot more lost in the little bit of Riven I played, than I felt in Myst.

At Last! No longer do I have to fiddle around with the 5CDs, copying the stupid files across and editing a text file so it doesn't look for a disc in the drive. This is my favourite of all the Myst Saga; I feel it has the best atmosphere and story.
Thank you so much, GOG. Any chance to see realMYST here, too?

I remember Riven, in the same month there were published also The Curse of Monkey Island and Blade Runner (December, 1997).
There is a great atmosphere in this game and the locations are beautiful, but the games is really difficult, i will need of a guide :D
Thanks to GOG and to all his staff for this fantastic year, full of good old games, and thanks to give a second life to these unforgettable jewels!
I hope to see Dark Earth next year :D

Fantastic game instant purchase thanks
Sadly, i am way too stupid (or not patient enough) for these games. All those man years of designing beautiful levels, landscapes, rooms and machines, of composing fine music and creating a fascinating, strange world. All in vain ... at least for me :)

I've no idea if it's the most common opinion, but i found Riven harder than Myst back when I first played them. But I liked it even better: prettier game, more atmospheric, more rewarding.
Finally! I've really been looking forward to grabbing this. I can't wait to play it. :)

It IS harder. It took me a few months to finish Myst, and it took me a few YEARS to finish Riven (OK, I was 13 at the time). The clues are more vague and the world is much bigger, which means you'll get lost quite easily (if you don't take notes).
