The Panzer General series is, without a doubt, a must-have for any fan of turn-based strategy games. Its third installment, Panzer General 3D, is no exception.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/panzer_general_3d_assault]Panzer General 3D: Assault is a historical turn-based strategy game and the first title of the series to include fully 3D graphics, which kind of made it look like an actual tabletop game. Overall, it was an improvement over Panzer General II - the best-known game of the series. The underlying mechanics remained mostly unchanged, which is a good thing, but unit balance has been tweaked to better represent their actual performance and 8 new campaigns were added. The biggest new feature is the introduction of unit commanders with special abilities. Overall, a great, enjoyable and absolutely addictive cult classic of a strategy game.
This is one great release, thank you gog team!
Surprising and great to see this series here (and a new DRM-free release from Ubisoft is always cause for celebration).
But... I'm actually more interested in the earlier 2D games. Please tell me you have a Panzer General 1+2 pack lined up? Pretty please? With sugar on top, et.c.?
And I'll throw in a vote for Fantasy General as well. :-)
An improvement over Panzer General 2 you say? hmmm I'm gonna havta disagree on that point, nice release though.
WW2 and TBS? That sounds interesting.
Shucks that Ubi is sticking to the 9.99$ pricing point, but oh well. At least it's a new release from them!
If they start releasing SSI games it's hella cool! I want Imperialism 2 asap, best 4x game ever! (and Might & Magic VII-VIII-IX in a bundle while we're at it)

Never heard of this game. Is it worth $10.00 though?

While it would be splendid to have those here, don't hold your breath; I can very well imagine that Ubisoft, being Ubisoft, wants to give the two earlier PG games as two separate products, for $9.99 apiece, but the GOG staff wants to give it as a pack, like you said.
Coooool! Will we get the entire general series (fantasy, panzer 1 & 2, allied, pacific)? I will buy those!

On the other hand, Ubisoft did give us a great Might & Magic-pack. So yeah, while many of their releases are overpriced, I'm not prepared to give up hope just yet. :-)
Probably a pass for me, though good to see Ubisoft still wanting to release games here, even if they're still $9.99.
Would love to see one of the 2D versions on here, I don't recall this version being up to much.
B ack in the days the MMVI pack was released as one game in the first place.
It's fairly obvious that the higher ups couldn't give a damn about their back catalog of obscure old pc games and are just trying to milk it for all of its worth. Ubi stopped releasing anything for like 8 months so it's obviously that approving the release of old PC games for a handful of enthusiasts and a few thousands in profits the absolute bottom of their prorities list.

Nice to see a new Ubi release although not really my cup of tea. Still a good game for people who like this kind of thing.
Good to see that Ubisoft haven't forgotten the SSI games. Or did you give them a nudge about those? Shame they haven't figured out how much better off they'd be with the $6 price point in some cases though.
