Unite a quarrelling kingdom and save a delicate peace.

Save a fragile peace in the open-world RPG Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition, available now on GOG.com for just $9.99.

It's been two years since the events from [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_3]Gothic 3. You awaken from a coma induced by the finale of the first game. In those two years, everything has not gone well. Myrtana is divided into four parts, now ruled by old friends of the nameless hero. Gorn took the paladins’ stronghold Gotha, while Thorus united the orcs and he settled in the castle in Trelis. Commander Lee now rules the capital of Myrtana--Vengard--and the eastern parts of the land. Finally, Inog and Anog jointly administer the territories of Silden and Geldern. The promise of peace and unity that you fought so hard for before you fell asleep has proved an empty one.

You as the nameless hero must reconcile the warring parties and bring peace to the land again. The main area to explore is Myrtana, and since this is a sandbox RPG, you can explore it in any fashion you see fit as you fight to preserve your troubled land. The fighting system has been revamped, the open world lets you play the game how you see fit, and the main story and many sidequests are sure to keep you occupied for hours. This is the Enhanced Edition, which fixes many major bugs, improves the overall gameplay, and even has some improved graphics and effects from the original release.

GOG.com is sporting the Enhanced Edition of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods made by Trine Games & G3 Community Patch Team. Get it now DRM-Free for just $9.99!

adamzs: As far as I know GOG still haven't confirmed that they would be keeping up the 2 old game releases per week once newer games are being brought in, and I fear the worst.

Anamon: They won't confirm, and they wouldn't have either way, new games or no new games. It's just no longer possible. The growth of GOG over the past years has been impressive. Now most big publishers are part of it. In the end its down to them, not just GOG, which games will be licensed for re-release on the site. Chances are, there are not enough licenseable old games available anymore to keep up a 2-per-week schedule in the long run. The way I see it it's not a trade-off, it's either "fewer old games released, and a couple of newer ones to make up for it", or "fewer old games released, period".
Yeah, I suppose you could be correct in that. Ownership and license issues of oldies are generally a mess, and it's possible they are running out of deals they can make. That's quite a sad thought though.

Moonbeam: Oooh that is awful, thank goodness my patched version doesn't look like that.
Referencing that video? It claims to be the patched version, too.

Even when the game looks like it should, it's still awful to play. The music might be my biggest issue--not the music itself (which is really nice)--but the way it's implemented. Every time you fight even the most insignificant creature, the music will change very abruptly to the same song over and over again (that stupid brass section) and it's just incredibly annoying. There is no smooth transition like Oblivion and other similar games with dynamic music.

This is a shame because the music is quite pretty overall and the graphics were excellent at the time, but the programming is just broken.
To the people who want GOG to stay with the old games, I think you are being incredibly short sighted. Today's new games are tomorrow's old ones. There are next to NO other outlets providing DRM free games. DRM free is a model that can work and Good Old Games is showing that. I have bought a few new games here, including King's Bounty TL, if Crossworlds was offered I would buy it here too, even though I already have it on Steam.

DRM free is important to me, it is a model that works, and I would love to see ALL games on GOG.
