From following the posts of the sequel, and from what I've read here, this sounds like a game that I need to have on my shelf.

For me, the riddles in this game that opened treasure chests really added to the game. I love figuring out riddles, and using it in an RPG context where you were rewarded with extra stuff if you figure out the riddles but not stuck if you could not was a perfect balance.
Great story. Great Characters. Although I own it on CD, I maight put in onth wishlist. I have not tried to get it running on my netbook, and maybe I can't (sounds tricky from what people are saying).

This is one of the best games ever made. $6? Heck yeah, I'll pay $6 for it. Sweet!

Wow. This is a great release for Gog. I originally got this game on a Computer Gaming World CD advertised as "The five best RPGs of all time" more than 10 years ago. While some of them certainly didn't live up to that billing (seriously, "Wizardy 8"?), "Betrayal at Krondor" certainly did. In fact, I'd rank it as the second best RPG ever, behind only "Final Fantasy VI" ("Xenogears," "Final Fantasy X," and "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" round out my top five in order). While my copy ran fine through DosBox on Windows XP, I ran into trouble with Vista and Windows 7. It still works, but it won't work full screen for some reason. If Gog has fixed this (and I'm sure they have), then it's well worth the $6 for the best computer RPG ever. I encourage anyone who hasn't played it to download it immediately, especially if you like RPGs. The story is incredible, and the game play and music are top notch. The graphics are about what you'd expect for a game that's more than 15 years old, but it's aged pretty well. And you shouldn't be playing an RPG for the graphics, anyway. The story and game play is what counts, and that's where it shines.

Finally got the game.
Well, I vaguely remember playing it when I was young and loving it, I wasn't really able to make out the story or ... Well, pretty much anything due to my poor English at the time. But now, when I can understand everything, I'm just loving the game that much more. I just got to the chapter II and if it keeps it's quality throughout the rest of the game, it'll easily get into my top RPGs.
Actually, the only thing I dislike about the game are labyrinth-ish and uninteresting dungeons. The rest is just great, and it's good to play something that doesn't take you by the hand and requires you to actually keep notes to know what's going on.

Anyone buy it yet? I'm just curious about the wallpaper that's supposed to come with it. What does it look like? Just a fancied-out version of the cover?
