I do not see how it looses the competitive edge of for example Steam and GG that the customer know a game they are waiting for is being released there soon, as they are doing... and is where I bought those games just to have it magically appear here.
Best example Pid - it was on the coming soon on GG for a week, there was no word here at all. It was released there as expected, I bought it. A few hours later it suddenly popped up on the front page here.... and I would have bought it here since the dollar to pound conversion was beneficial. there is no loss of competitive edge here at all by making the user guess a game may or may not appear, as opposed to other sites where the user know for sure it will be. I just call it extreme silliness.
