Hey!

Im missing the old and legendary need for speed series, and no one of them is working on the newest windows version. Is it possible to make all of them here on GOG?

I don't know much about that series and its ownership/rights, but one thing that might help is to vote for the games on the community wishlist.

I agree they could be a great addition to the GOG catalog! :)

I'd give my left nut for a working version of them in here.....if I had one. :D

So that means the last for getting these games here is all but lost. :P

Oh yeah. Well now I'm depressed.

Seriously I still play Underground 1 and 2 constantly but most of the NFS titles after that are just too rough on newer systems. I'd kill for some original High Stakes action.

Indeed NFS Underground 1&2 was the peak for the series, still remember all the great fun I had playing with my friends while leaving them in the dust. I am surprised actually that it they don't have as many votes compared to the other games. The latest Need for Speed Rivals is locked at 30 Fps even on PC and if that isn't bad enough its also always online BS to ruin your experience.

If none of them were working on the latest versions of Windows, then that in its own right would preclude it from being added to GOG.

That being said:

Need for Speed 1 works fine under DOSBox. Can't speak for the Windows-based Special Edition.
Need for Speed 2 works fine using a Glide wrapper and Malte's x64 installer.
Need for Speed 3 works fine using the Replaying.de installer.
Need for Speed: High Stakes works fine.
Need for Speed: Porsche 2000 doesn't work, although I had problems getting that one to work ten years ago.

I'm guessing the first one should run without a hitch through dosbox, but the 2nd one (which is perhaps the best one) was a Windows release :P

Old games with licensed cars are highly unlikely releases, though I won't say no to Stunts getting released here too.
