Bubba 'N' Stix? I used to play this game as a kid on my Amiga 500, it was superfun.

Psyringe: I think some more information might help, let's see if we can jog your memory a bit. :)

Do you remember the platform the game ran on? DOS, Windows, something earlier?

Could you give a rough estimate of how old the game might be?

Did the levels scroll or were they fixed screens? Any other gameplay elements you remember? Deaths, victory screens, was there shooting, was it an action platformer or rather a puzzle game, etc.?

Was it a professionally produced and sold game, or could it be some shareware/freeware product?

Soccorro: fixed screens. i remember playing it on something like an amiga??? The computer had no cdrom drive. oh man i need to play it again. it is a really old game. i think the character had a high pitched scream when he got killed.

If it was the amiga for sure, you can try www.gamebase.com and download a database with alot of amiga games, it has screenshots and can easily be scrolled through maybe you can remember it through that.
It helped someone else before that i know of.

it was way more pixelated. and i think there were doors, taht led to different levels.

This and "high pitched voice" totally sounds like Rick Dangerous II. I don't recall whether there were any light switches, though.

Alright, I never would've guessed that from the original description.
All I remember from Crystal Caves was the vacuum pump or something that would pull everything into it if you shot it.
