All of the Myst Series are marked as playable with Windows 8... However, I have yet to get any of them to work properly... neither Myst, Real Myst, nor Riven will run correctly... I have downloaded and reinstalled several times... I have downloaded and installed suggested fixes only to have it mess up my Windows 8.... I was really hoping to play these games again... Especially so after spending the money to purchase them... anyone else able to run any of these programs in Windows 8 Pro? Much appreciated for your assistance...

Um, go back to 7? 8 is almost universally hated by everyone I know that's upgraded or bought a new PC lately... I'm hoping MS fixes the issues in later releases. That or I'm going back to eating fruit.

I haven't been able to run realMyst, Riven, or Myst Masterpiece in Windows 8. I have done all the updates, loaded the programs as the administrator (I am the only one who uses the computer), and still it doesn't work.
