I just watched five episodes of this, and it is quite entertaining. I can't for the life of me figure out why though.

Tatami Galaxy, Kemonozume, Moral Orel, Ugly Americans(if you don't count stop motion for some reason, there's an extra).

well i've never seen of any of them since i'm not much into anime and i can't watch any of the adultswim stuff.

so i guess you win unless someone else knows more about it.

Still i can't see why MLP should be dumb since most episodes are rather well written, and there are a lot of references aimed at older audiences.

Also Animes are technically not cartoons ;P.

To me it's a bit of a throwback to the old Loony Tunes with some of the animations. For example, I think it's episode 8 or 9, the one with the Griffon, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash have a moment that is very similar to Pepe Le Pew and the female cat.

1. Ugly Americans is a Comedy Central show, not an Adult Swim show.
2. If you "can't" watch the Adult Swim programming due to your age and a lack of parental permission, that would make a lot of sense.
3. 99% of anime made in the 2000s is crap. Kemonozume and Tatami Galaxy are easily a cut above their peers.

All the same, the show is not only bad. It also has a negative effect on the animation industry as a whole, and is systematic of a larger movement away for creator-driven animation. Anime is "Technically" a cartoon, or "a film/movie made by photographing a series of gradually changing drawings or models, so that they look as if they are moving".

RatherDashing, stop flinging opinions around like pseudo-facts......MLP isn't that bad, and also you're right that anime is cartoons(some serious some silly etc).

It IS bad.

1. Animated in flash, rather than by hand.
2. Major overuse of tweening. The result of automatic interpolation is an image that has sloppy transitions in movmenent and an image that suffers an elastic "knockback" at the end of a movement.
3. The show is based off a toy license rather than an original concept, and exists as a 30 minute advertisement for colorful plastic molded into pony shapes.
4. The show exists to promote The Hub, an executive driven and run channel made in the most cynical way possible, and run in a fashion that is anti-creator and anti-animation as a medium.
5. The show uses high-pitched voices and completely overdone, inconsequential "problems" that have existed in every kids cartoon since at least the 90s.

This show is bad, is a bad influence on the industry, and on the whole cannot be justified.

Still, just your opinion.

1. Flash animation doesn't make a show bad....plenty of excellent flash artists out there btw to prove this.
2. Dunno what this is but if it's there I never noticed it when watching a few clips of it on youtube.
3. Many shows are based on toy licenses(GI JOE/He-man/etc).
4. Again, your opinions for the most part.
5. The voices aren't as bad as some other shows i've watched, and shows recycle content/plots...this is nothing new.
