Again i'm not saying it's "wrong" just seems "odd" to me to play with em if you're a grown man.

Why? At least such toys are designed for men. :\

If I saw a man playing with an army man or whatnot to me it doesn't seem as odd as if they started brushing a pony's hair or similar.

To be honest i have hard time imagining a guy like this going "pew pew" with toy soldiers, but find it strangely believable that he could be brushing a plastic toy's mane.

I never thought he was playing with toy soldiers(looked at clip title from the start.)

And yes men playing with ponies is creepy. I agree.

Soooo, I had no idea the proliferation of My Little Pony on the web until I saw this thread a few weeks (months? whatever) ago. Then my daughter started watching the show so i figured i would sit down and check it out with her.

The show was fine. Nothing hideous or whatnot like the Barbie cartoons. But I have news for you, all this talk about how it promotes friendship and the like. Its a 22 minute commercial just like all the rest. The show exists to support toy sales, just like Carebears, GI Joe, and most everything else before it. Perhaps its not news... anyway, Captain Caveman and JabberJaw had more moral fiber.

Is this kicking a dead horse? Probably, but this thread was too much to read all the way through and its boring at work today.

Well, yes and no. Toys were made way before Lauren Faust even thought she would produce the reboot. Does that make it any less good? I personally believe not.

When this show was created, its mission was to send a message with each episode (and i dont think the message is to buy the toys). Its made so that people can relate to characters and follow a good story. Regardless, there are people that actually buy the toys only to support the show.
