Thank you for the great giveaway, 51nikopol! I'm in.

I'll drop by again for a happy birthday on the 30th, it's too soon now. :)

As for music, I didn't want to post something currently popular (as those mostly suck), but not something from the 60s or 70s either. I decided to go with some great (imho) rock/alternative music from the 90s.

O Vasilias tis Skonis (The King of Dust)
Adrenalini (Adrenaline)
Meres Argias (Holidays)
Akouo tin Agapi (I hear the love)

Happy birthday man!

I'm in.

Thank you for your generosity and +1.
As of the song, well I'm not really into modern music or whatever is "popular", but I could recommend you
Slim Harpo - I got love if you want it
Enjoy!

klaattu: This is not a traditional song, but a great song from a local group
Manel - Benvolgut

Please count me in and thanks for the giveaway 51nikopol.
This song and video are incredible! Thank you for sharing!
I am in. Thank you very much!

There are so many popular songs here, it's not so easy to choose one. Initially I would have posted some Pavarotti or similar, but I prefer to share something peculiar.
Here is a videoclip of "Alta Marea" by Antonello Venditti: it's a cover of "Dont' dream it's over" by Crowded House. The song was an hit of its time, back in the 90s, and the peculiarity is the fact that the (horrible) videoclip featured a young Angelina Jolie, so if you don't like the music, you can always turn it off and enjoy the video.
Congratulations and thanks for the very generous giveaway.

Too old to know whats popular, but this always raises a smile from me

Happy Birthday. Glad you came to gog and are getting s lot from being here. And thx for doin this.
Count me in.
Thanks, I'm in. I think that you as a Canadian would be familiar with what's popular in the US right now. I'm not very savvy on what's popular right now. My favorite music at present is still this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CBTZqO83WQ

Thespian*: As for your request, I hope you'll like these songs from Hevia, an artist from my country.
Unfortunately EMI seems to object to that video - and most like it - in the true north strong and free :P

Here's one of Busindre Reel that seems to have their blessing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Q08cOPqgc. Awesome piece, remember it from back when :-)

The ones that work from the playlist are El Garrotin, Si la nieve, Naves, Étnico ma non troppo, La Procesión and Taramundi Gaxarte.

Thanks for the heads-up, Spinorial. I've changed the link in my entry to the youtube link you included in your post for the sake of simplicity. ;)

I am not really sure what is popular in the US aside from the usual Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift drek that gets played endlessly on the radio, in restaurants, bars, etc that I don't think I'd be doing anyone any favors by posting links to them here.
I'm sure other countries will have more unique music.

Great giveaway though, thanks :).
Happy birthday, in thanks!
