Does the sale work if you just have the Kindle reader on your Android phone or PC? If it does I think calibre can get this onto your Kindle easily enough.

I told my brother about this since he just got a Kindle Fire and he, being a major fantasy fanatic, jumped right on. I'll tell you how he likes it and who knows, maybe he'll let me read it.

I installed Kindle for PC (in Wine..) and registered that so I could "buy" it, which gets me the AZW file. I tried to convert it another format but Calibre wouldn't because of the DRM..

.. wouldn't that DRM also stop it running on my Kindle because the file is "tied" to the 'Kindle for PC' installation?

I'm sure it would just be easier to register my Kindle with Amazon but I don't trust them to keep their mitts out of and off my stuff. I also want to remove the DRM so I can back it up (in case anyone is wondering).

Also, Tallima, do you have any way of me sending you some money if I like these? I'm treating it more as a "full and unlimited trial" than a gift :)

I don't want to post any links but Amazon's Kindle DRM is pretty easy to crack (and doing so is completely legitimate, imo, because coverting to ePub is almost a necessity). A Google search and about 15 minutes should solve your issue. Incidentally, you may want to figure this out anyway if you don't want to register your Kindle because Amazon.com has some pretty outstanding deals on books (even free titles) on a daily basis and you may want to buy a few of them.

I think Tallima posted a couple places it was for sale, you could simply buy it for full price if you like it, that way his editors and anyone else who helped still get paid as well:)

The book is a Kindle exclusive right now (I had to sign over exclusive rights for their Prime program). So it'll be on Kindle with the Kindle DRM attached. It has a lot of exclusions, but many GOG users should be able to get it for free.

To any of you on the fence about downloading this, I'm 80% through it (started it this morning) and I have two things to say:

1) It's FREE. Why are you even reading these reasons to download it? It costs nothing! Do Tallima a favor, read it, and spread the word if you like it!

2) It's actually good. No insult meant to Tallima, but first novels aren't usually very good, but this one is excellent and well worth the read.
