skynet464: Isn't Paradox Interactive Steam only now?
I believe it is, however I think in this case taleworlds (The Developer) has some kind of rights to publish too since they sell through their own site without steam. Let me tell you a story:

A couple of years ago my brother bought Mount and Blade: Warband retail for my birthday without noticing the steam requirement on the box. At first I thought it would be something I would just have to put on a shelf somewhere and forget about but I thought I would email paradox to see if they could swap the steam key for a non steam key since the demo client uses a key to unlock the full version.

The Tech support at paradox were unable to do anything at their end but suggested I try the developers so I did. I got through to a Turkish chap and after a couple of emails back and forth he sent me a Taleworlds key to unlock the demo and he didn't even want the steam key back to invalidate even though I did offer several times.

All in all I'd say Talewords have the best Tech support I have ever used, and I wouldn't be surprised if M&B came here sometime in the near future. I read in a thread here somewhere that a paradox published game would be coming here soon although the thread was inclined to believe it was publishing on GOG in order to honour a Kickstarter agreement. here is a link to the thread:

Personally I'd buy a second copy of M&B on GOG to play LAN multiplayer and I wouldn't mind getting my hands on Paradox's back catalogue too, I hear Crusader Kings II is pretty good and I recall the cities in motion demo looked good.

Crusader Kings 2 is no longer supported outside of steam.

I thought it was always steam only?
Voted. It would be nice if the amazing Napoleonic Wars DLC for this game, also became available for purchase at GOG.

LOVE this game! Ever since I watched the beta of Mount and Blade tick by on my woefully underpowered PC (never did get to play it, was just able to load the first "town"). Everything about it is wonderful, from struggling to assemble a fine suit of armor to building a party of loyal companions and enticing a lord to enlist your services. Great game.
Voted, would love to see it here though I know if you have the retail version you can go through Taleworlds for a DRM free copy which was nice. Played the original first and sadly didn't realize Warband was activated through Steam a little bummed but happy I could get a DRM free version of it.

Also, space out your game. Remember when I first played Mount and Blade started on a day off, played a bit thought wow time flies and realized 16 hours had passed. I have to limit myself on Mount and Blade.

I got Mount and Blade Warband on Steam, so are you saying I could take my purchase and redeem a DRM free copy of Mount and Blade from their site. Or are you talking about something else?
I look forward to it.

https://www.taleworlds.com/en/Games/Warband/Download As long as you can get your key you should be able to use that download there to unlock a DRM free version of it. However, I'm not 100% sure if it will still work as it has been about a year since I used there site and it has updated since then.
Love this game. Some nice mods available too.
When I started playing this I had no idea you could fast forward in the travel map. Wasted a lot of time chasing people that way:)

You can fast forward time??? Dammit, this is what happens when there are no hard copy manuals to grab your attention.

There was a way, at least up until about 18-24 months ago, that you could do it without getting in direct contact with Taleworlds. Hit up their forums and do some searching; that's where I found my solution but I'll be damned if I can remember exactly what needed to be done. But I do know that I didn't have to open correspondence with the company nor did I post on the forum looking for a solution - a search was all it took and it wasn't at all difficult getting my Steam-laden retail (disk) copy to work without Steam.
Oh boy beer will fall from the sky the day that masterpiece of a game comes to GOG, I can't in all honestly tell you an aproximate of how many hours I've put in that bastard (And neither how many bastards have met their deaths facing me down).

If any of you guys are looking for a good mod try out 1257AD (Both SVN and 1.03 Kill The Peasents Edition) and Brytenwalda, there's also a new one in the scene but its quality make it stand out, A Clash Of Kings.

Also if you want to get a real challenge put all the game options to hard (manual blocking included) and you'll know what fearing for your character's life and realm means!

Fan post ended.

The day you feel a battle feels like this you'll know you've had too much Warband! I know so!

Cheers!

M&B is a great game, so it certainly deserves to be here. The only annoying thing for me in it was when I had to duel on foot using large lances.
