Question... is this overhaul mod the same as the MGSO? (morrowind graphics and sound overhaul)

I have the 1.3 version of MGSO, but that released some time back... and I don't ever remember seeing even a 2.0 released. So is this a totally different mod, or is it the same mod with just a new and simpler name?

I don't know how easy this 3.0 overhaul mod is to install, but the MGSO practically required a programming degree. You needed to install lots of texture and model folders over older ones, tweak an FPS modifier, check it for errors using the mod manager, then finally install a 4 gig RAM mod to allow for multi core users to benefit from the framerate increase. Mods have really turned me off from time to time over stuff like that. If installing a mod is going to take longer than the install for the game itself, then the mod is too goddamn big and unwieldy.
I 'm really impressed by the work made by the Overhaul team and I congrats them, but I don't recognize "my Morrowind" ! I don't feel this kind of "onirism" that I discovered the first time I played it in 2002. It looks like a photoshopped game.

Even if I think it's a beautiful mod which deserve to be known, I prefer my old vision of Morrowind, not perfect but more authentic !

Same here, I'd prefer only some improvements faithful to the original old look.
In fact, I'm more interested in the Morrowind Game Experience Overhaul project (lore-friendly gameplay fixes\features), even if it's years that I'm waiting for it..

640px ought to be enough for anybody :D
Goddamn I hate the Morrowind engine, I still get crashes on it with the overhaul installed

Thanks for the answer.

I still think the most beneficial Morrowind mod will always be the 'remove cliff racers' mod. Excellent work. Makes the game so much more enjoyable not having to be attacked by those damn things every 10 seconds.

I prefer Rational Wildlife. Only "blighted" cliffracers will attack you on their own with this. And the rest of the fauna is less aggressive too (except for real predators, like Nixhounds).
