While looking through the 'top 3' and 'top 10' threads I see a number of non PC games. Wil GOG be getting old Genisis, NES, SNES, etc.. games?
I'd love to play some Shigen the Ruler (NES) , Shadowrun (Genesis) and many other great classics, but will GOG be looking at these as well?
Just curious.
lol rom rights.
I mean, respectfully, I don't think so. It'd be really cool if somehow they could, but with the rampancy of ROM piracy, I highly doubt it.

Out of curiosity, what about Gametap? Yeah, it's not the biggest collection, but they do have some console games that I'm sure has never been ported to PC. How do they manage that?

You speak as if old PC games weren't pirated rampantly enough.
Anyway, not sure whether they should/could compete with the likes of XBLA/PSN/Virtual Console.

According to Wikipedia they do have an emulator software included in the GameTap application.
I think the idea isn't bad for GoG.com, but I guess they should and want to first focus on PC games for a long time until they "perfected" it. I think that really is the most important goal for now, especially in establishing a convincing service contrary to all the DRM-supporting ones :)

In all fairness I own the Sonic Mega Collection for PC, and with the distribution of things like Rez HD and all of the Virtual Console stuff, I don't think is this a bad idea. Would I pay 5 bucks for yet ANOTHER copy of Sonic 3 & Knuckles? Thats a tough one. immediately I'd say no, but hell, if i had some spare cash i might think about it. I'd rather have it tied to an account which i can use to freely download at a whim, and disks degrade over time.
Shit I'd think about it a whole lot more if they came as packs and not single games.
Edit: furthermore consider that this website is GOOD OLD GAMES, it makes less sense to write off an entire plethora of games just because they aren't PC.

If they brought in the Front Mission games emulated (and even better - with translation!) I'd pay up to $20 a pop for them. Esp as I no longer use a tv.
