deoren: Anyone know what the DRM setup would be? I imagine that part hasn't been mentioned, but what are some of their other titles using?

The DRM is pretty unobtrusive as it authenticates the game on their servers, but I'm pretty sure there's no limit to the installs you make. If you buy from Steam, well, you know what to expect.
Thanks for the info.
For the telltale one, they only use securom's online authentication component (at least according to their customer service person Emily). Who knows for the lucasarts one, the xbla version will presumably use the normal stuff but the PC could be anything
Ooh boy oh boy.
LOOK, A THREE-HEADED MONKEY !
*steals all the new monkey island games*

Kaidane: A few pictures comparing the old and new versions are here.

Wow, they look really faithful to the original. It would be really fun to play it again with those updated graphics.
I wonder if it will still have the WAIT. BEFORE YOU BEGIN...

Probably, since (from what i see) it looks almost exactly like SOMI.
I guess there's now no chance of SOMI on GOG.com! Too bad. :(

I think the first and second Monkey Island games are now freeware.

I think LucasArts would beg to differ. Just my thought. I wouldn't be surprised (if SOMI SE is successful, which I believe will indeed happen) if LA decided to make a LeChuck's Revenge Special Edition as well.

LucasArts seems agree with you (from their press release):
"These efforts are just the start of LucasArts’ new mission to revitalize its deep portfolio of beloved gaming franchises. In addition to these new Monkey Island projects, LucasArts recently revealed that the classic adventure game Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (originally released in 1992) is included as an unlockable bonus in the Wii™ version of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, set to be released on June 9. Additional announcements are forthcoming."
Can't wait to see these "additional annoucements"!

No, they are not.
Wow, Fate of Atlantis is on Staff of Kings? I won't lie to you, I might get it just for that. Technically I still own FoA but it's for Mac Classic. I hope it's the voiced version.
