Hmm... I know it's based on the same original artwork from the original version of the game... but I can't stop comparing the new version of this artwork and the version from the "Special-Uber Edition" unofficial project.
Very similar imo.

Apparently they are both working from the same original hand painted artwork, as it was released at some point as a book comprising of various Steve Purcell stuff.

Andy_Panthro: Kinda looks like he hasn't got a beard.

No, there's definitely something resembling the beginnings of whiskers there... you can see it best on the last screenshot (the one with Largo), it just looks a bit like shading on the rest...

Naturally. But I much prefer the SE.
I think I accidentally creamed myself when they finally announced this... Now I'm just hoping that Telltale will be allowed to sell hard copies at some point...

This is unlikely, as Telltale were unfortunately not involved in the development of the remakes!
While Tales of Monkey Island (the episodic games) are a Telltale production, the remakes were developed and published by Lucasarts, who have otherwise been pretty quiet except for developing new Star Wars games and publishing all of the LEGO games using their IP.
Looks great, tho the "new version" it's seriously nothing like the original... totally pumped up.
Now I wish they would show GOG some love, and not stay Steam only.
Voices in classic mode? Guybrush not looking revolting? I.AM.IN. ;) Now.. to get some money-money for that... ;P

Agreed. They should, at the very least, give us the first SE...

I'd settle for the originals first, the SE later.
I may buy this one! Now if they release an updated version of the original game that allows voices in classic mode I will finally be able to buy that, too.

The SE includes the original and works well on modern systems... It's pretty much what we should get, plus the remake.
Now - if we got both, there would be a pointless overlap, because buying SE would get you everything from the original, in addition to the remade content...
