Hi
Something is not right with minimum system requirements for all games. I mean every game has the same system requirements and look exactly like this:
Windows XP or Windows Vista, 1 GHz Processor (1.4 GHz recommended), 256MB RAM (512 recommended), 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended), Mouse, Keyboard.
I bought today a game M.A.X. and unfortunately this game doesn't work properly on my PC. It feels like playing on 486 machine with 16MB Ram :). My configuration is WinXP SP3, 1.4 GHz Processor, 256 RAM, GeForce 2 GTS, DirectX 9. Ehh... for now i haven't money to spend on the new computer just to play old games... any suggestion?
Please contact our support team at support@gog.com and describe your problem. They'll gladly help you out with it.
Sorry to sound like a condescending asshole, but...
Oh mah gawd, 256 MB RAM for a Windows XP machine is seriously pushing it.
Try to upgrade that to 512MB or greater whenever you can, it'll make a world of difference, not just in games, but in daily usage too. It shouldn't cost the world either. Maybe 20-30 bucks?

Hehe... I know this is strange, but my XP runs very fast on 256 RAM. I optimized my system at maximum performance (no resident programs and no for me useless services etc). I use PC for programming in PHP, web browsing, reading/writing e-mails and sometimes playing old games on Win98SE (I have both system installed) and for all these things I don't need more RAM. Especially if I have in my plans buying a new computer (in a month, maybe two). Anyway, thx for tip. I wrote to GOG support and I am waiting for answer. If my computer is to slow to run DOSBox in good speed it's OK, but GOG team definitely needs to change system requirements for M.A.X. and others emulated games.
Is Max a dos or windows game? If it's dos then it can be adjusted through the dosbox.conf file manually. I haven't bought it yet so I can't be certain. The gog fellow there is right though, contact them.
