Hey quite impressed you are able to pull off another giveaway, thanks. Not in but from your last one, quite enjoying The Cat Lady you gave, albeit in a snail's pace as typical of a casual gamer behavior but the simple controls make it seem like a relaxing game despite it's dark overtones. As for FRACT, I have a low rig so I would not be able to run it although the gameplay look nice for something to keep an eye on for future sales once I save up to get a better computer.

So for your current and past giveaways, +1 and thanks for your gracious efforts even through the good and bad times. Merry FRACTing Christmas to all as well!

Edit: As for exploration games, I haven't tried that many but The Cat Lady has such little thinking in terms of the puzzles involved I kind of consider it exploratory in it's own right since the story is a bit mysterious but unravels as one does more things. I also recently bought the Myst bundle for myself and after seeing first hand gameplay for it at a friend's house, I look forward to exploring that universe myself when I get the chance. It has so many jaw dropping landscape views and the machines in it look awesome too to investigate.

I'm glad you're enjoying The Cat Lady. :) I'm sure you won't be disappointed by Myst either. FRACT feels a lot like Myst in the sense that you're dropped in this unknown dormant world without any clue as to what you're supposed to do and you have to figure out how to put it back together on your own.
Not in, but thanks and +1 for the giveaway! :)
Last chance to join! I'll close this soon. :)

zicodxx: FRACT YES!

I would love to get a chance with this game. I am really, really intrigued by the world this game creates. And to be totally honest, I am not all that big into music at all. I mean I love listening to music, but "making" it - that's a totally different beast. And I feel very excited about the possibility of how this game can "teach" me, change my perspective - like many other games did before.
This is it, folks. With the help of my bonus points, and the blessing of the universe (random.org) zicodxx was chosen from the best 4 entries. I hope you'll enjoy the game as much as I did!

As for everyone else, thank you for participating and better luck next time! (I might buy another copy of FRACT once it goes on sale again so stay tuned for that.)

Would love to hear you post thoughts on the game once you start playing it.

Personally, I think it's really really underrated as no one has heard of it, much less played it.
Congrats, and thanks for the giveaway

Happy Holidays! +1

Alright. It's a few days late but I think I can deliver my thoughts now. I finished the game in two days actually - just three sittings. So I can say it definitely immersed me quite a bit. I loved the world around the game and the whole concept of it. And I am very, very proud of me that I solved it almost completely without any help. Heck I made notes to solve certain riddles. I love when games force me to do that. I'm serious. Games should do that more nowadays. Maybe have a notebook "ingame" (ya know - for those people who don't believe in paper anymore) but nonetheless.

The only part where I got stuck for like 90 minutes was that last red/pink sequencer puzzle with 5 different tracks (those who played the game will know what I mean). I could not - for the life of me - figure it out by myself. So for this I had to consider a walkthrough. I am ashamed of it but without it, I would have never been able to figure it out by myself. Sure I could have tried to brute-force it but eventually that would have killed my motivation to finish the game at all.

But the fact that I could actually use a walkthrough was something I was slightly disappointed with. I think this game could have worked neatly with a certain amount of randomization. Many puzzles could have different layouts to keep things fresh for further playthroughs. That might have added a certain replay value to the game. As it stands now I surely will play the game again but in a few months at the earliest so I can forget most of the game again.
This is basically my biggest point of criticism. Replay value is very, VERY important to me. I can understand it may not be easy for every game but I eel here, opportunities were a bit wasted.

Regarding the music aspect, the game - I think - succeeded in teaching me the understanding of this specific type of music more. At least the overall structure of different tracks, effects and such. I would have hoped it would have "trained" me more so I could actually continue after the credits (I don't wanna spoil here). Unfortunately that was not the case but again - I am not a very musically inspired person. I really don't wanna give too much away but in short: I thought this game wanted to turn me into a musician and that just didn't work out. Again: That may be my fault, tho. :)
After all, if the game would have gone more into detail, maybe that would have turned me off completely. So I don't wanna judge that aspect.

Overall: Good fun, interesting and inspiring experience. I just wish it had more replay value. :)

Glad you enjoyed the game (and your criticisms are fair!)

It was less a music game than I thought it would be, but more puzzle/exploration-oriented. As such, that does limit the replay value once you've explored all you need to explore.

Still, I do love the tie-in with visual/audio cues when you do things right. In that sense, it's probably the most rewarding (as in, the game gives you rewards) puzzle adventure game I've played.

I absolutely agree. Breathing new life into this world was very satisfying. And even tho my initial post sounded very critical (at least in my opinion), the game did a very good job in introducing me into all those musical tools.

I have no idea if it would have been possible to create a deeper musical experience. I mean I would have loved if the game could teach me to become the new Daft Punk but I can see how such musically uninspired people - like me - would get rather annoyed by it. I guess that's a very fine balance. I think for all that FRACT wanted to be, it did a very good job.
