prakaa: The activation is like 3 concurrent, which means you can't have it installed on 4 PCs at the same time, NOT activation 3 times
9300M is truly a piece of crap, nonetheless I'll install it on both and try it out

StingingVelvet: All SecuROM activations are concurrent, it just means they can be used at the same time on multiple PCs. When you run out you still run out and need to contact EA to reset everything.
Anyway the game runs well on older hardware from what I have read, and the game itself is amazing, so yes, you should buy it.

But can you have 2 installations, uninstall it on one computer, then install it on another computer?
So basically, if you have 3 concurrent, and you install 1, will you still have 1 left?

The act of uninstalling the game does not deactivate one of your allowed concurrent installations, so if you have installed it twice, you only have one activation left, even if you uninstall from both of those first two computers. EA does offer an activation revocation utility, but I'm not sure if ME is one of the games it supports.

With EA's recent games, you can deactivate a game when you uninstall so that you have all (4, not 3) activations back. Some do this automatically, but you can also download a deactivation tool for the game. Mass Effect has one of these.
EA's support will reset your activations if you use them all up without deactivating, though.

Sweet, thanks
Anyone know the name of this magazine which will give me Mass Effect for free?!?!?

Right... when I said run out I meant if you reformat or something and do not uninstall, that activation is lost. If you lose them all you will need to contact EA support (or crack the game).

As far as I know its a hungarian magazine so you would need to import it, don't know its name though. Also another 1gb of ram in your computer with the 7600GT would probably help it out quite a bit if you can afford it.
AssCreed had ridiculous requirements, Mass Effect will work quite a bit better. My computer ran it on medium/high at 1920x1200, with similar specs except for a 9600 gt.
Also, Mass Effect is absolutely amazing. If you don't trust me read the articles at RPS.

melchiz: (The folks at Impulse have stated that ME will arrive on the service sometime soon, so I wouldn't be surprised if it arrived with a nice sale.)

I wish. Impulse has the crappiest sales, even worse than GamersGate. It's really disappointing because I like the service.

captfitz: AssCreed had ridiculous requirements,

It's extremely processor focused... even with a Q9550 I get some slowdown when a ton of people and buildings are on-screen and that is with a top of the line GPU.
Definitely worth it. Probably the most "cinematic" game I've played - some parts of it are indeed epic. I can't wait for Mass Effect 2 (and I do hope it is at least as good as the first one).
I think it's a Unreal Engine 3 game and since a Pentium 4 with a 6800 can run UE3 games alright then I think this will be fine with little tweaking.
Well I am slightly biased as I love Bioware games but yes Mass Effect was brilliant, I even bought the DLC. Cant wait for number 2.

prakaa: Is the magazine available in Aus?!!?
It isn't.It's a local PC gaming magazin, the game has hungarian sub.

It's a good game. But not hugely spectacular. If you've played KotOR then you'll have some idea what you're letting yourself in for.
Essentially it replaces the lightsabers and turn based combat system with a more conventional third person corridor shooter fare with awkward cover mechanic. And yes, the narrow, cramped environments are still there. It feels like it was originally designed for the Xbox. But the Bioware magic is still there where it matters, and that's what counts. It just doesn't feel like it was designed with modern systems in mind.
Why cant anyone use google or at least research before posting? i mean this was a simple question and the answer was there, and EA will reset to 0 then the tool becomes your perfect companion...

as to the playability of MassEffect? Its the only internet with DRM game I own that I support and highly recommend. That's huge from a guy that wont even use steam ^_^
If you have a 360 I recommend that version over them all but if you must get the PC you wont be disappointed...

You get the Bring Down the Sky DLC free for the PC version and it also has a redesigned HUD that is supposedly better than the 360 version but I don't own that one so I don't know.
I have been playing the game since a couple of weeks ago and so far I'm liking it a lot. The story, universe, locations and alien races are very well done and I like the real time fighting system much more than the turn-based battles in KOTOR.
