I'm not sure why they're making the second game for the PS3 and not the first, but there you are.
I've bought and played both of them. Found the story in the first much better than the second, as the second title's story is more about learning about the characters you recruit, so I imagine people new to the game won't have that much of a good experience story wise. Likewise the second's plot twist might not have as much effect.
Plus, while the choice continuity didn't make that much of an effect from the first game for the second, I'm going to assume the third title will be meaningfully altered based on choices from the first and second games (rachni anyone?). So, PS3 owners will only get choice continuity from the second game into the third, which loses some appeal. (assuming the third one get's released on the PS3) Essentially, to get the full experience, it's an idea to play the entire trilogy.
Regardless, hope others who've played it and do buy it, enjoy the game.
