Hey folks,

Not gaming related but i thought I would share this with you. (might make it into a giveaway later too, this post will be updated if thats the case)

Anyway, long story short, my oldest dog has been looking a bit iffy for a couple of days. Took her to the vets and they didnt really know what was the issue, wanted to do bloods and put her on different food, this was on Friday last week.
Took her again on Monday for her to get blood tests and the vet weighed her, She had lost 500g over the weekend. Her blood tests and stuff showed a reduced protein level or some crap like that is what we were told yesterday when i called to find out the results.
She was at the vets again today for more tests but had lost almost 4kg since Monday. She is off her food a little, eats about 3/4 of it and is drinking a lot. The vet is really concerned about her. Will find out the new test results on Friday and take it from there I guess.

I hope so too but its not looking very hopeful, she is pretty old too. think she is 12 which for a large dog isnt bad going.

That sucks. Give her all the love you have and keep her comfortable.

I hope for the best, sadly I lost three dogs and I know what you feel.

My dog also one time had a thing like this, she was otwo entire weeks without touching ANYTHING.
I gave her some pills (can't remember the name, sadly) and very very slowly she recovered.
It could be food poisoning , ask your vet about it, probably he will give you a broad-spectrum antibiotic, I gave my dog two pills once a day.

Make the dog drink water.

Could be something your dog ate ? My cat had the same symptoms once, and the vet said it was because she ate something bad (don't remember what), and we just gave her only milk for a while without anything else for a while, and she got better. Might not be the same thing tho .

Twelve is very good for a big dog but it still sucks. I'm not going to go so far as to compare it to losing your mother or father but it's hard none the less and I'm sure all of our hearts go out to you.

Had a few dogs myself and a cat. Seeing them go is always painful. Leaves a big hole inside.:(

I'm sorry your dog is in this situation, but 12 is a good age and it sounds like you've been a good owner. Have you checked to make sure none of your cleaning products, car products, etc... have been gotten into?

I had a good look around for things she might have gotten into that might cause harm. Nothing seemed out of place.
I do know she managed to steal 2 grapes yesterday but this has been ongoing for a bit longer than that.

She is drinking water fine, a bit more than normal if anything. Her "waste" is pretty normal. (TMI probably but if she was passing a lot of liquid feces that would give some info perhaps)

She is eating but just not as much or anywhere near as fast, She was never mistreated as far as we know but she has always vacuumed food up. (im not kidding, her stomach would be shocked in and she almost just inhaled food)

It is possible it could be some kind of poisoning but I have no idea how she could have done it, she grudges going outside these days and cant go for long walks like she used to.

I hope your dog gets well cause I can imagine what you feel. I lost mine last summer at almost 14 years of age and it's quite hard.
