What are some gogs on here that offer online coop for 3+ players that are both fun and I've probably not considered.

Here are the more popular ones we are thinking about playing?
RTS I have considered:
TA
Swat 1 2 or 3 ? (4 is too new)
Starcraft
Homeworld
AoM
Aoe II
Stronghold Crusader

Rpgs:
IWD
BG
NWN
Diablo I
What are some other rpgs that offer online-coop?

Any other co op genres we should consider?

FPS:
System Shock 2?
Give 'Way' a try. (link) It's a 'cooperative' game in every sense of the word. You can't win without playing with someone else, and you can't win without working together. It's more puzzle than anything else, and the main gameplay mechanic is highlighting objects and making 'gestures' to communicate to your partner. In its current state of development, there's not much point to playing a second time after beating it once, except to get a faster time and to 'hone' your pantomiming skills. To this end, the game is set up so you never play with the same person twice.
Have you tried Jagged Alliance 2 1.13 co-op before? It's a lot of fun.

For newer games, what about Torchlight 2, Borderlands 2 and Path of Exile?
I don't think Swat 1 & 2 offer co-op. 4 absolutely does (and it is the best one in the series for these kinds of things, in my opinion). Also, Swat 3 probably belong in the FPS category, while SWAT 1 is more of an adventure game.

How about Hidden & dangerous? It offers solid co-op options, and is great fun to play in general (though really hard)

Also, System Shock 2 does not offer co-op, to my knowledge.

Tried Killing Floor or Sanctum? I think Sanctum has a free weekend on Steam right now, actually.
i'd rather not play path of exile, its like diablo and torchlight which im not super fond of.
I am more interested in older games for older laptops. So sanctum, killing floor, borderlands 1/2, are too resource intensive.

What is jagged alliance co-op like?
I'm usually not a MP guy, but I found Mass Effect 3 to be surprisingly fun. It's co-op for up to 4 players, try the demo and see if you like it (requires an account on Origin).

If you're into 2d shooters you could give Jamestown a try, levels are short but very intense on higher difficulty settings.

And if you're going for Diablo I'd pick the second over the first, much better paced.
What is Jagged Alliance like gameplay/co-op wise?

Do the splinter cell games offer decent co-op for singleplayer campaign?

And lastly, has anyone had experiences with the Arcanum co op experience?
Was it enjoyable?
World of Pong (do not read the comments before you have tried it...)

I hope you do realize for next time that telling me not to read the comments not only makes the person more suspicious and thus more susceptible to suspect something is up, but for someone who needs instant gratification like me, forces me to read the comments.

I second Killing Floor. WAY more fun than it has any business being, mostly due to how awesome the weapons feel to fire.
dont know how old laptop you are talking about, but 4-5 years should be able to run graw 1 and 2 both are very good co op games,, world in conflict,,,,

Before starting a co-op game, you can decide on the difficulty level, number of enemies, availability of Bobby Rays' weapons, starting cash, number of mercs per player etc. When the game begins, each player hires the number of mercs specified, buys equipment, and then you choose a sector to play in.

When the match starts, each player chooses a place to put his mercs in. After that, it's like any other turn-based multiplayer game. Each player will make his moves and end his turn, and then it's the AI's turn. The cycle repeats.

It's fun because you really have to rely on each other and coordinate. The best is to have each player control 1-2 mercs, to minimize waiting time.
