Have you watched those films? theres wizards, orcs, trolls theres even giant slugs! Even Laputa turns up (giant floating city with a weapon that can destroy everything below!) SW is high fantasy with some science tacked on the side :P

Try Planescape. It's not exactly your typical fantasy, it's got steampunk and whatnot thrown in, and you will never, ever, find a game with more interesting dialogue and characters. Even Aliaslpha, who doesn't really like fantasy, recommentds PST.

Jade Empire, perhaps.

Chrono Trigger for the SNEs if you're OK with old games - this is probably the best JRPG there is

Remember that KOTOR 2 NEEDS its fan patch. With the fan patch, it is an outstanding game though.

And how about Albion? (Oh please gog, you already have Ubisoft on board, they own blue byte and thus you could release this gem of a game!)

You should also check out the System Shock series, if you can.

Dunno if that's relevant in this case, but anyway: A friend of mine played Albion a lot and even programmed a nifty char-editor. He found some forum about Albion modding, and told me that there were no big mods because Blue Byte somehow lost the source code - literally, not in a legal way (someone from that forum supposedly asked them).

I thought about mentioning Albion, but wasn't sure if there would be too much fantasy in it ;)

I'm currently playing Geneforge 1, and while the setting is unique, it still 'feels' very much like a fantasy setting. Kind of like Tolkien with genetic engineering.

Yup Star Wars is a Space Fantasy with elements of science...fiction.

Septerra Core? Never played it myself, but it may be more science fictiony than swords-n-sorcery.

Planet Stronghold may be up your alley. I haven't played through it yet, but the basic premise is that it takes place in a distant future. Kinda like Mass Effect, but more turn-based.

This may look as a strange suggestion, but if you don't mind space shooters and interactive movies, take a look at Wing Commander III. It has a great story, there's a lot of character interation, and moral and dialog choices are there, even if somewhat limited compared to classic rpgs. On the other hand, you can also influence the plot and get different dialogue options simply by winning or losing missions.

And also, +1 for the first Kotor. If you liked ME, they share many of their core elements.

By non-fantasy I meant something without magic in it and action placed in more modern times. I would love play something like Deus Ex or Alpha Protocol, but it seems that there is a very very very few cyberpunk games. And even less with a plot.

So I will play KOTOR even tho it's not exactly what I'm looking for.

I hope that new Tomasz Gop's game "Project Human" will be that what I'm looking for.
