thornton_s: Tiscali. Tthey used towarn you that you would be put you on a crap connection, with all the other heavy users if you downloaded large files within the peak hours 6-12pm. I think it applies more to filesharing programs than individual file downloads though.

Nafe: Ah yes, a while ago they used to be *alright* but as I understand, now they're absolutely atrocious. I would highly recommend Be Broadband or o2 if you have an o2 mobile.

I was thinking about switching to O2. They actually called yesterday and pestered me to death to switch packages, might be a good idea since it will be twice the speed i am getting now and no peak time restrictions.

stonebro: I'm disappointed in the bad controls.

thornton_s: Is that the PC or Xbox version ?

PC version.

Yup, o2 is basically rebranded BeThere broadband which is what I'm on - stupidly fast, no restrictions, great tech team and techy community. Plus dirt cheap.
No I do not work for either company :).

They haven't done a Telltale have they ?
Actually i will soon find out cause it's just finished downloading.

I don't mind the interface. I'm playing with a 360 controller (I know, blasphemy, right?) and it feels pretty natural. However, I am still playing it on the PC.

Nafe: WAT? What have they done?

They've completely redone the interface for the console players. Naturally, they've stuck the PC version with the same awkward interface. This isn't exactly news, this has been known for a long time.
So basically, they've made an updated console version of a classic PC game, and then made a shitty console port instead of a proper PC version.

i'm curious too. what can they possibly have done to make the make the controls of a point and click bad? is it the new menu system that bugs you?

Gutted, my Wife has downloaded and already playing on 360. I'm way behind with my 2.5gb PC download. :)

Gragt: Horrible creatures. I avoid them whenever I can.

stonebro: Who? Steam? Lucasarts? Guybrushes? The cast of Monkey Island in general? Lawyers? Cable salesmen? Spiders?

Three-headed monkeys but now that you mention it: all of the above!
What's wrong with the interface???
You can quickly cycle through actions if you want, but also they are generally context-sensitive now ( right click on the mouse over someone and it will automatically "talk to" , or on a door and it will "open," etc).
Apart from that if you switch to classic mode it goes back to the way it was, all of you complaining about the graphics/controls do know that you can play it as it originally was right?
My heart dropped a bit when I heard the redone theme at the opening.
The controls are a little weird, sure...
No less, I'm enjoying the experience.
Hahah, I just finished the whole game in "Redone" mode. That was awesome... I'm going to run through it again in classic mode and try out some other dialogue options. I can definitely see how this game must have been impressive at the time of its release, given how well it holds up now with a simple graphics and sound update...

You misquoted. I never said that.

I wouldn't call it shitty. It works great for me, but maybe that's because I'm using a 360 controller.
While I'm here, I might as well ask how I'm suppossed to keep the grog in the mugs from melting before I need to use them.
