Wasn't sure if a "poll" was possible on here, I glanced around and searched for lightscribe and came up with nothing. Soooo...
To the GoG Admins or whomever, and anyone with an opinion..
Would it be possible to have LightScribe Disc Labels(images) provided for purchased games? (originals or GoG style made)
Do you think they should be available?
I do, just as a helpful item for users who burn games to CDs and DVDs for storage. That and the fact that I have horrible handwriting.

DarthKaal: I've always loved how some guys here (always the sames in fact) disagree in a very very "classy" way... very constructive.

Weclock: maybe I should elaborate - the disc images are typically available on GOOGLE so hosting them on GOG is really needless. :/

Right, there are plenty of disc images on the web, but as you surely know, quantity doesn't mean quality.
There are a lot of low res and very poor quality scans, I guess Fox was thinking about "GOG quality" disc labels.

KingofGnG: Stupidest idea ever from an archiving standpoint....
Digital media need some special handling to let them "live" for the longest possible time, and surely writing on the label face with a laser isn't the best thing to do in that regard....

Do you even know what Lightscribe is?
But I think that Lightscribe will only work if it's in color, which I don't think it is right now. Ah well, it sounds like a good idea on paper though.

They wouldn't have to be anything "top notch quality", not even full disc coverage would be required. Though it would be nice, but as mentioned, monochrome doesn't produce the best images. Maybe something like a GOG logo type deal, with the game title.
An Example of one I made is for Sacred Gold. I put the game and extras on a single disc. And even though it didn't fill the entire disc, I went ahead and downloaded demos, patches, and such (even though I had no use of these files myself, I always know someone looking for patches or just to try something new to try) of it just to try and fill the void. In the end for the Lightscribe label, I ended up with a large print of the game title, and across the bottom I have the KEYS burnt right onto the Disc just for the fun of it(as well as a txt file on the disc). If I put things on paper or file, they always seem to get lost while rearranging things or I cannot remember what Disc (or sadly cannot read my own writing, I guess I should've been a doctor). But yeah, doesn't really need to be retail quality. I'm sure you get the gist of it. Again, I suppose it all comes down to personal preference. If nothing comes of it, oh well, I'll still continue to make my own, it'll just take more time on my part to do so.
Edit: Okay I've just realised that I've said a bunch of stupid stuff in a thread that is over 3 years old. Just pretend nothing happened, nothing to see here. *whistles*
