They only reported yesterday that his condition had "deteriorated severely", but hell's bells, you don't expect less than 24 hours to live, even with news that bad. Weeks maybe...couple months...

IIRC, he's been fighting the cancer a couple of years, but took a drastic turn for the worse yesterday, and died very early this morning.
Made golf sexy for a while in the 80s and 90s. And I'm not really a golf fan.
