Sabin_Stargem: I this point, I am hoping that Capcom capsizes and their franchises end up with more appreciative owners. With any luck, Megaman and Ace Attorney would become part of Nintendo's stable.
SirPrimalform: Hmm, I kind of agree with you. If marketed properly, I'm sure the AA series would be very popular with the Professor Layton audience. In fact, I think if they ever localise Layton vs Wright that'd probably do the job for them.
All the Layton fans would buy it and realise how great Phoenix Wright is.
To me, Nintendo isn't just about the characters, but the
worlds that those characters inhabit. Metroid wouldn't be the same without the dark and hostile environments that create a sense of isolation, while Earthbound possesses a quirky nature embedded in a world familiar to us.
Which is why I want franchises like Sonic, Metal Slug, Ace Attorney, and Psychonauts to become a part of Nintendo. Above anything else, Nintendo has often excelled at distilling what is the core of a franchise's nature and honoring it. This is more than I can say of some other companies, who usually misunderstand their franchises or witlessly pursue the largest audience.
