vorob: Well, KOTOR is here for years. And both KOTORS are on steam. So i don't understand what's the problem in releasing 2nd part on gog :)
"KOTOR is here for years"

I know time flies when you are having fun and all but October was only 2 months ago ....

Maighstir: Honestly, if I have to vote between Knights of the Old Republic 2 getting here and you staying... sorry, but I'll vote for the game. I don't hate you, I'm not saying you should leave, but I do want that game to be here.

darthspudius: Lots of bugs and pacing problems. Why would you want to bother with it?

cataclism: Even buggy it's still better than the first.
The fan patch fixes most of the problems and adds back the unfinished content anyway.

darthspudius: Better than the first, thats a joke right?
Serious as an heart attack.
It built upon the fist game gameplay wise and it's one of the very few star wars stories that doesn't deal in black and white morality. Kreia is a particularly interesting character and often makes you doubt your decisions, no matter if you go mainly light or dark side.
The game was, admittedly, crippled but I can't hold Obsidian responsible. The main problem was Lucasarts rushing it and the restoration mod more than proves it. Hardly the only bad decision lucasarts made in its final days.

What do you wanna bet that at least 90% of the people here bitching about not having KOTOR 2 haven't even bothered buying and playing KOTOR? Here's a pro tip for game enjoyment - actually playing the first game before moving ahead with the 2nd one. Jesus Christmas, you people bitched about wanting Lucasarts games since forever ago. Now that you have some of them, you want ALL of them, and all of them 5 minutes ago. The ADD here is off the charts.

Have you considered some people might not want to play the first KOTOR?

Yes. I thoroughly considered that possibility before making my hypothesis. However, that would be the incorrect assumption. People are whiny, cranky grab-oids. I know, I'm one of them.
Yay KOTOR 2! and then the third! Oh wait...

Dammit Bioware.
I sure hope they add KOTOR 2 to the shop. Would be a nice incentive for me to buy the game a fourth time. ^_^;

Because I enjoy the game. Yeah, sure it has problems, what game doesn't? Sure the ending barely exists, but I play games to experience the journey, not to see the end.

You have my sympathy :P

Shouldn't your ire be focused on Lucasarts? Bioware didn't even make KOTOR 2. Lucas were the ones that decided to go with an MMO instead of developing another RPG...

Well, honestly, I loved the first game when it came out, but I tried to replay it a few month ago, and it has its fair share of pacing problems. I couldn't get past the first planet before getting bored to tears. The start of KOTOR 1 is really slow.

But it is not half as bad as that truly awkward beginning of KOTOR 2.

Well i played and beat Kotor... Twice... My impression of the pacing was more if you were a big fan of Star Wars then you wouldn't care, otherwise it felt too slow, kinda like a slug oiled machine that didn't quite feel like it fit in the universe even if it was thousands of years before the events of the movies we all know. That and somehow it felt way too similar to Jade Empire... mechanically and whatnot...

Considering how devoid the first game was of plot and character, I couldn't really blame them. Honestly, the second game's discussions of the first game's plot actually gives it a more interesting twist than anything that actually happens in the first game... To say nothing of the intricate plot that KotOR2 itself has.

And for those who try to say "It's buggy and incomplete.", both of those are equally true of the first game. I've certainly ran into more bugs in KotOR1 than 2 (despite having played 2 far more times), and they both had entire planets removed from their plots.

The first game i know removes 2 planets...
