barleyguy: You seem to be forgetting World of Warcraft, which is an Activision game. Doesn't anyone in Japan play WoW?

Never got a domestic release. So the only people who play it, have to import gamecard, etc., from the US. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, no Blizzard games has ever had a domestic release in Japan.
Do many games get translated into languages that use a non-latin character set? Depending on the complexity of it, I could image the possibility of a UI needing to be redesigned to accomodate the more unusual alphabets

Actually, I think it's the translated Japanese games (to Western market) that usually need UI redesign, since you need more character spaces to describe something that originally can be described by only two or three kanji characters.

I know World of Warcraft got translated into Russian, and I guess it's in Chinese and Korean as well.
Granted, that's "one" game, not "many", though I doubt any UI changes were needed.
