marcusmaximus: I played some of the games from both series when younger, I think neither were as good as Quest for Glory or Gabriel Knight series which are both available on GOG as well.

Quest for Glory is a hybrid though of the king's quest style game and RPG.

Gabriel Knight probably has the best story out of all the Sierra games.

grviper: Laura Bow games aren't too shabby gameplay-wise either. It's still writing by Roberta Williams, but at least the story is more freeroam and there's more room for error.
the laura bow games are sweet. easy to get an ending but hard to get a good ending. forgot about them. =) I'm not sure if I ever got a good ending in either. lol
