I don't really think there will be much of a change. None of the Kim family seem like decent people and I don't think they would be dumb enough to try war, North Korea is a pathetic country and they would likely lose, though South Korea would suffer greatly.

Just as a note, when referring to Korean names (in this case, Kim Jong-il), the last (family) name is written first, so his given name would be Jong-il; his last name is Kim.
