Ouya seems to be in lot of peoples scam list cause it never turned up to be the phenomenon it was supposed to unleash on release , many backers had to wait long time to get their units, many were poor quality, dubious decision by ouya to get exclusives to the system etc

from what i hear they are already planning to go ouya 2

Or, would you say that games like A Vampyre Story or Runaway - The Dream of the Turtle are scams?
Both are full-length games, but neither game completes the story to any fulfilling conclusion.

Of course this is also a marketing trick, as some gamers feel they "must" see what happens next.
No, I don't mean episodic games nor games where the story is covered in several full lenght games. I don't remember the name of the gam, but it was some another Kickstarter game, They pretty much ended the game in the middle of a level by just throwing a wall of text in. The devs even admitted that they just ran out of money and released the game as it was. But they were still trying to sell it like it was a full game and priced it as such.

OUYA has raised $8,596,474 and was late delivering the reward. When reward arrived it was made of cheap plastic with part of controller coming off. The games they promised were cheap looking and right away asked for money. I would say only 10% of what was promised has been delivered. Where did all this money go? Paying off salaries and wasting time! Just look on the web for unboxing videos and reviews, it’s a total scam and many have thrown their $150 investment into the garbage.[/i]

I appreciate that many people think that Ouya is garbage (I thought it would be from the start, which is why I didn't contribute to the kickstarter, and it looks like it is as bad as most people expected) but how any sane person could suggest that, after releasing a product which has clearly involved *some* effort to produce, it is a scam, is beyond me.

hedwards: It's bait and switch. It's not as bad as some of the projects like that card game guy that was recently sued by the attorney general's office, but the original promise was something very different from what they wound up delivering. It was supposed to have games that were all free, or at least had a free episode, but that got watered down to a large extent to attract developers.
In fairness, that's not really bait and switch, firstly it's a representation as to future matters and secondly it's not something that they have all that much control over - when the option is to have no games because nobody wants to make free episodes or games you have to pay for, one option is definitely better.

Personally, I read their kickstarter (at the time) as basically saying that they would try to ensure that most of their games would have crappy demos for you to try. I would be amazed if anyone thought they would actually be able to convince all devs to make free levels or demos when the alternative was to just ignore the platform entirely.

Off topic: I actually saw a Ouya in a store the other day, it was in the electronics section of Target, on a bottom shelf and very easy to miss. I can't remember the exact prices, but the controller was almost as expensive as the Ouya itself.

I mean, I know Mdickie is releasing his games on there, but they're available for the PC as well, so I suppose they don't count. About Ouya, I think it was doomed product to begin with. When they proposed it and people went nuts about it, there already was several different kinds of Android devcices meant to be used by plugging them in your TV set. The only differences about them was that they didn't have dedicated controller nor their own Ouya store front and they weren't called game consoles, but other than that they should work with Blu-tooth controllers. I've even played GTA 3 for Android with one of them.
