So the last time I'd played the demo was just after it was released. I had a Celeron 466 with TNT2 Ultra graphics card, and a 15" CRT Monitor.

I remember being rather impressed, especially by the Pale World level which I thought looked incredible. Never got around to getting the game though. As a college kid, I just didn't have much money to throw around...

So now, with the sequel around the corner, I decided to download the Alice demo and see how it holds up. And honestly, it seems now to me to be all style and atmosphere, and not much on gameplay.

Pale World still looks cool, but not nearly as amazing as it did before. I'm wondering if that at least might be due to me running it on a 1080p LCD at 1280x1024. Black levels, non-native resolution, etc.
I also only played the demo. Did like it very much...

offtopic.
TNT2 Ultra was such an amazing card. Haven't had it myself but longed for it dearly even tough my ati Rage Fury 128 worked flawlessly and played all the games (but HL only at 800x600)
