So I just joined GOG and as soon as my account was made I apparently have five or six games in my collection already that I purchased! I didn't buy anything yet! What is going on?

Yep, welcome to GOG. :P
I'm starting to think that GOG need to communicate better that these games are free. This topic seems to spring up pretty often...
^_^

Notice the "Free" logo in the games' pictures. Also, welcome! ^_^

That, and aren't some free games not even automatically added to one's account? I wouldn't want people to miss out on titles they might enjoy.

I gotta agree with this. It scared this shit out of me when I joined. Of course the quality of some of those games can be a little offsetting; most freebies are crap, like GG giving you "Volvo: the Game".

Volvo?

Really!?

REALLY!?
I think they ought to stick new accounts with Jack Kean.
Those game in your library are rent to own games. As soon as you buy a game here you'll be charged for the rest of them as well. :P

Don't believe this! They tried this with me.

8 months later I figured out they were full of it and stopped paying.

You only paid for 8 months? Pretty sure you're supposed to pay each month for your subscription to the GOG forum.

I remember them having been better at it. Then again, if the user has yet to try buying anything (ie. not yet entered any payment details), and notices the games already on the account, why would anyone worry about it?
