The second picture does actually show all of the games listed under a header that says, "Items you already own."

Takes a little getting used to...

Does similarly when redeeming codes.

True, but as you've aware this isn't the usual system. Normally it won't allow a person to "tick" the boxes and have a message like "Nice, you own all the games", or it will allow you to "tick" the games you don't own. This only appears during sales, and personal experience has shown it to be unreliable.

I don't see much of a difference to the old-style bundle pages. Selecting games you already own was always possible, and both the old and the new style did/do mark the already-owned games. The only substantive difference is that the previous "you own all the games" text was in a different place from the new "Items you already own" text, but the new way is arguably superior because it also assists in cases of partial bundle ownership, by separating owned and non-owned games from each other completely.

Can't argue with that. As i mentioned it does that for gifting/redeeming codes now too. Plus you can select games you want to redeem rather than all/nothing approach. Makes for gifting with trusted individuals easier.

The screenshot you've provided is not of the "old style".

So after reviewing the info I've posted I assume your saying there's nothing wrong with the current system?

[Edit]: I've posted an example of the "old style". This style, as far as I'm aware, is still used.

Of course not. You already know what the old bundle pages looked like (even if you apparently didn't quite remember how they worked), so I posted a screenshot of the new pages "in action", in a scenario you didn't seem to have encountered yet, partial ownership.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Wasn't part of your complaint that that style is not being used any longer?

Nup. People have been dissecting what I've said and focusing on small segments of the overall issue so I probably got sidetracked on a response and messed up my wording. After 14hrs at work my brain is generally fried :)

So the primary issue is:

The system doesn't always tell a person they own a game until "checkout", even then it sometimes doesn't work. Referring back to my very first post - I have pictures showing I purchased two (2) different copies of Witcher 2, and both show individually in my library.

Currently I do a heap of checks since I don't want to accidentally buy another copy of some expensive game, but if the system worked correctly I wouldn't have to do this, not to mention that with over 800 games this becomes a real bugger. Already Steam is starting to muscle in on GoG by flogging off "classic" games, not to mention their attempts at selling music, game extras, and likely there will be movies in the not too distant future.

I'm tired and ready for sleep, so after all this talk of Steam I might go check out their big Xmas sale before bed. Ironically, with the problems purchasing on GoG, I've dusted off my Steam account and have been checking out all the changes. I'd forgotten how many of my favourite games (Civ, X:3, so on) I'd given up :)
