MaverickRazor: Yes, that certainly does ring true, great books by the way.

It's too bad he never got to finish the last one... My guess is all the drugs he had to take to come up with the ones he did finish is what finally did him in. ;) They got trippy after the first couple.
I don't know who he is, but even without seeing the clip, the fact that he appeared on Faux News tells me a lot.
Maybe I should celebrate by watching Deliverance again.
Anyway don't you love it when people involved in a certain area start to talk of something that lies completely outside of that field of expertise? And that's whether they are in your camp or not.

JacobNZ: I don't see anything wrong with what obama is doing, I'd rather lose some freedoms so I feel safe, some freedoms so I can be look after and some freedoms so we can advance as a race. Than have those freedoms and be in a depression, a morally inept soceity and nothing better than thee other animals on this planet.
Also what obama is currently doing is little different than the health of every other advanced country on earth, thus I see no problems with it.

Sielle: Isn't this EXACTLY what people were complaining about Bush doing? With such quotes as "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - B. Franklin

Yeah, except apparently it was bad when the other guy was doing it. Who knew? I think he wore red or a special hat or something though, so when he said the exact same thing it meant something completely different.
@MaverickRazor - Fwiw, though the new healthcare bill as it was originally proposed differed from the dual tiered Brit system (as far as I understand it). That was the major controversy. There was no opt out. It differed in several other ways, but they're pretty boring.
@JacobNZ
True, but the US pays the lowest taxes of any civilized country and has the best healthcare professionals. Of course, access to healthcare is another issue entirely. Also, people don't like taxes here. People from other countries don't realize how big of a deal taxes are here. That's kind of what got our country started in the first place....
There's also the fact that Obama is on track towards running up the deficit more than any president in our country's history besides Reagan (another fiscal lunatic). We probably just can't afford many of these reforms.
@frostcircus
Dialectic Discourse is dead. Completely - outside the hard sciences.
Hard sciences and gog!

MaverickRazor: I am currently out of work and not very well off and have recently been diagnosed with Agoraphobia. The NHS is providing therapy for me, help which I would struggle to be able to afford myself and thankfully is available free at the point of use. I can't tell you how grateful I am and I wouldn't want any other type of healthcare system. I imagine there are a great many others in the UK who share my sentiments.

Heh I grew up watching english comedy joking about the NHS being cheap & lame so my first thought with NHS agoraphobia therapy inolves shoving you in a closet for an hour

Hey, to be fair when compared to private healthcare, in many ways the NHS is cheap and lame, but if you can afford it nobody is stopping you from going private. I can't and without the NHS would really struggle to get treated especially given the nature of my problem.
I've about a month or so wait until the start of my therapy (waiting times are probably the biggest downfall of the NHS), so lets just hope it is a little more advanced than shoving me in a closet; but thinking about it, if they were to put wheels on the bottom of it I might be able to get around :)
If it wasn't for medicare here I'd probably be in the shit. Of course the fact it only works for about half the things I need done means I'm half stuffed but better than fully I guess
As for the cupboard, wheels on the bottom, cut a hole out of the bottom for your feet and a slit for your eyes. It'll be like a combination of the Flintstones & Dr Who
OOOOH! Now THATS some therapy! Get in a Dalek!

It would certainly be hard to feel self conscious while chasing people and shouting "Exterminate, EXTERMINATE". Might even be worth a try, although I must remember to avoid those pesky stairs ;)

The NHS waits for no man!!
They started hovering for the 7th doctor, it was the cliffhanger at the end of the first episode or Rememberance Of The Daleks if memory serves

Cheers, I think i'll just take your work for it.
Anyway, back on topic, Voight, politics, Obamacare, where were we again?
Well having read the thread title and noting the lack of 'a', all I can think is "Moronic Rant" sounds like a great name for a TV show
