Just my feedback: the game could have been AWESOME! The new plan & go system is great! Graphics are beautiful.

But they made some simple stupid mistakes that ruin the fun totally:

1) no fog of war: seriously: a tactic game where you see the enemy all the time? Enemies cannot flank you, cannot surprise you, it's just plain boring now!

2) Even more stupid Ai than in the 10+ year old original game! Enemies run towards you and they don't recognize, when their comrades are killed 20 meters away

3) you can instantly heal soldiers, even if they already blacked out: a medic needs only seconds to bring them back to full power... damn, this is NOT WOW!

4) Soldiers don't ask for a salary anymore... you pay once and they fight for life time...

so no planning, no surprises... the game could have been fantastic and they ruined it!

Here are two vids that show how easy you can kill the enemies... giving some tactic tips in case you want to still buy the game .

If they wanted to go modern, they should have made something similar to Full Spectrum Warrior. Cover and suppression are the key words here. But truth be told, I didn't have such high hopes for the game anyway, and I hated the demo because it wanted to be commandos too much with out actually being as good.
Have you actually played that game?
I was actually expecting this.
That's why I think that some games need to be left alone and not rebooted. Jagged Alliance was one of the series that shouldn't have been "revived".
By the way, recent discussion on this if interested:

if they had stuck with their original intention of making a 1:1 remake with more modern graphics, they'd now have a potential blockbuster on their hands. JA2 is one of those games that are so masterfully designed that they are still played and sold decades later.

it was clear from the demo that the game would end up as a disappointment. the real-time combat is pointless, IMO. the lack of fog of war makes gameplay frustrating. you have no real way of knowing which mercenary can see (and engage) what enemy, or how many of them.

it's beyond me how some publications like GameStar and even GamersGlobal could actually see potential in the game. i suppose that's the German bonus striking again (German publications are notorious for praising German productions beyond what they actually deserve).

forget it, like all the other would-be clones, and keep playing JA2.
Not having fog is just stupid, it takes away all the randomness and replayability out of it.

This might have been a publisher's decision, you know to catter more to the casual players who will play it one time only and forget about it. Their money speaks louder than the fans' money.
